    I once heard a Hollywood executive say that Tyler Perry has the one thing that every filmmaker wants - a loyal audience. As with any film, some will like it some won't. That's actually how it is with any artwork, film, TV show, song, book, etc.

No one wants to see the bad. We'd rather pretend that it doesn't exist. This movie had some of the best acting of all of his movies and I thought it was better than average of his movies. I enjoyed this film from Tyler Perry. It was so real and deep. It shows that if a man is not healed from past traumas it will carry over into adulthood and relationships. What I enjoyed about the character of Meagan Good was a woman like many BW who remains in a relationship to change a man or situation when they have no control over it, and is well aware of the background of the family because you're not just marrying the person, you're also marrying the family, and that goes for both genders. Corey and Megan Good played the hell out of their character, and I am glad Tyler allowed them to be in his movie. People could say what they want, but Tyler has shown he is grassroots and provided opportunities for many Black Americans.

      @terranceirby947 I understand having balance and the growth that can come from that but I don't think a person needs to acknowledge negativity and give it a spotlight. Tyler chose to acknowledge his supporters instead of those negative comments. He can still take on the critiques personally but I'm glad he didn't respond to them publicly.

      He should because in this case his "non fans" are actually his supporters. We want him to win and do better. We are not against him we are just disappointed. By addressing it he will give us a reason to even entertain his next project.

    • @zandersorc
      @zandersorc 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Stanley-k7u interesting take, but I disagree to certain extent. The "non fans" that are actually his "supporters" that offer constructive criticism should not expect to be acknowledged if all they want is for him to do better. They should be hopeful that he does take in into consideration and apply it to later projects.
      I would find it very difficult to acknowledge someone as an actual supporter if they tweeted/posted that I need to be stopped. That's not supportive, that's purposely being a jerk just for the sake of social media clout.
      The post that Tatyana posted was constructive and helpful. So hopefully he takes a post like that into consideration.

    I liked it very much. I looked at it as a movie. Did not take it personally, because it does not reflect my life. It’s a movie. Damn. What I did not like was Cory acting that didn’t seem real. Meagan did her thing, and she seem realistic

      I have not been a fan of Tyler for a long time, but the level of hate he gets makes me believe people are triggered. It is as if Tyler is personally attacking them and they become blinded to the fact that there are positive Black men in his movies. Like it or not a lot of Black women can identify with being mistreated in relationships. Let them have their entertainment. And don't watch it if he is offensive to you.

    All these people complaining about Tyler Perry on social media have no friends. Before social media, you had to actually have someone close by to vent these insignificant thoughts . Now people just get online and start diarrhea’ing useless opinions about people they don’t like. Y’all already know what time it is with his material before it even comes out. I hope TP puts out ten more movies this year and a Madea’s Greatest Hits album just get these losers aggravated.

    My love for the black actors that Perry employs goes harder than my strong dislike for him. I rather watch his films to support the likes of Meagan Good and Kelly Rowland etc even if than means lining Tyler’s pocket because he’s using that for some good by paying these amazing actors what they deserve. You don’t have to like Tyler Perry, I sure as hell don’t but try to put that aside to give support to the rest of our community.
    Meagan was AMAZING in the film and I loved seeing a little reunion between her and Debbie Morgan 🥰

    I think black directors should take notes from directors like Tyler Perry: If one day you wake up to get a phone call from Fox News to ask you about your life, and how you overcome your obstacles from nothing and became something, you must be doing something wrong at the drawing board. You need to go back, erase, and go over it again.

    I watched it last night and it was definitely not the worst movie yet. I had fun watching it. I don’t think he should address the hate. He clearly has a fan base so he should continue making films for the people who watch them. The same way certain artists isn’t for everyone but people love their music

    Black women struggle
    Don’t expect steak from a pastry chef . Let him cook. Choose where u eat wisely.
    If few black men watch his content because it’s not appealing, leave it. He has a target audience. Continue to stand strong in your masculine frame.
