- This song is about my long experience living in Sausalito, CA, a place I'm forever bound to. Not much to tell about except my romance with sailing and adventurous travels. My years in Hawaii are reflected in the music, which is derivative from an old Hawaiian song called Alekoki. It's a happy song and I hope you'll like it. In this version, I have added Rick Pruett on Bongos.
Love your singing
great tune
Of all the places I have been,
I feel at home in Sausalito
And just across the Golden Gate Bridge
My heart is there in San Francisco
Oh, how I love all the wooden ships
Sailin’ San Francisco Bay
Along the docks of Sausalito
I met my love and sailed away
Oh yes, I met and married a boat,
And sailed her under the rainbow
Leaving all my worries behind
In Sausalito
I sailed on down south to Mexico way
The city of Acapulco
And across the ocean wide
To the land of Hilo
And there I made a whole lot of friends
All the Kane and Wahine
But the one thing on my mind
Being back home with my baby
I was as lonesome as I could be
So long ago
Now I live at home with my baby
In Sausalito
