I am going back in June '23 to walk the Meseta, so thank you for your family videos covering it - and the fact it was a similar time of year too really helps! Looking forward to watching more of your Camino journey here on TH-cam!
Hey Colin - thanks for watching and subscribing. I remember the Meseta well, those long hot days 😉...would not swap it for the world though!. We are heading out later in the year to do the Camino Porto, keep an eye out. Let us know how you get along in June and it our vlogs did it justice? Buen Camino 👣
@Everyday.Journeys I will indeed watch out for that! Been trying to encourage my wife to do that Camino with me once I finish the Frances! Buen Camino to the whole family! Stay safe and get those feet ready to avoid blisters!
With every video, I love how much Papá is enjoying the camino. As always there is nothing better than getting advice from total strangers. Lol. Will not mind at all if you ignore (why wouldn’t you?) but my advice is at the next big place, find a camino shop (this may be León) and buy some shoes or sandals with wide toe boxes and in a size larger than you normally wear. The camino makes feet swell and in summer even more. Altra and topo athletic do trail runners with wide toe boxes. All sorts of hiking sandals work if the straps are away from any blisters and worn with socks with help keep at least some stones out. Costly but so much nicer than walking with blisters and sore feet. Buen camino.
I cannot tell you how much I love your Camino journey. I try to discipline myself to just watching one video each evening, but I have minimal success with that goal. Reliving my Camino experience as I watch yours, and grateful to have met y'all that first night in Orisson, then dinner in Roncesvalles, and a few other times along the way. Thank you for your dedication and great work shared with all of us!
Hey Mary...many thanks for watching our videos and we are glad that you have enjoyed them, we have really enjoyed sharing them and it brings so many memories back for us also 😃
You guys continue to make me homesick for the Camino. I tell my friends here in Canada that I have left a piece of me on that damned trail :) There is no doubt I will be back. I too landed in Fromista on a Sunday (the Sunday after you guys were there) and absolutely everything was closed and "deserted". We had to eat horrible food from corner stores - ugh.
Hey Mark...the one piece of advice that I wish that I had been given was around making sure there was food available on Sundays etc. Teenagers get 'hangry' quite quickly 🤣
Hey There Thanks so much for your video diaries, myself my husband and 2 of our children are walking the Camino this September.10years it’s been on our heart’s,our 15 year old daughter isn’t as excited to be away from friends but our 19 year old son is looking forward to it.Watching you guy’s walk and being real is definitely helping us see what walking as a family and the logistics looks like,We also love a nice coffee and like that you are mentioning those things as well. We first saw the movie the Way in 2012 with our 4 children one Sunday afternoon, since then life has changed a lot since that afternoon and we only have 3 of our children now.5 years since one of our boy’s passing we need to get away from it all and just walk. Brady is his name and he used to tell us he liked the movie but there’s no way no chance he is walking that far 😂 So we will do the walking for his memory soon.I sincerely thank your family, and love your updates regularly.
Hey there Hope Cottage...thank you for taking the time to contact us. You will relish this journey as a family and it is such a beautiful way to remember and bring Brady with you. Please do let us know how the walk goes in September, and yes the coffee is amazing! Buen Camino 👣
@@EverydayJourneysTV We are really looking forward to it now. Will definitely let you know how our walk goes.Backpacks arrived this week so it’s beginning to feel within real. Buen Camino 😄
I can believe it : you don't stop in the San Nicolas church albergue. Omg! It was a must! You run to town to town. Pity. After was Boadilla del Camino, another amazing place to stop or stay.
Going really well, on our way to Leon tomorrow and then having a rest day. Thank you for sharing your journey of The Camino, it certainly inspired us to come and do it. 🙏
@@EverydayJourneysTV Great thanks. Almost definitely starting again from Burgos in a few months time to do the last 500km. Any advice on what NOT to carry with your full Camino wisdom? I’m at 8kg right now so may have to leave my Bose speaker at home. 😊
@@NickLivingLife Good to hear! We would suggest leaving behind the cans of beer, any heavy bricks that you may have accidental packed and definitely don't carry any grand pianos 🤣. On a serious note, we dumped the washing line (seriously we took one), but could not have lived without the Poncho, small veg knife and wine bottle opener.
@@EverydayJourneysTV hahaha. Who needs a washing line when I’ve packed the kitchen sink. I’m not sure I can take a veg knife or cork screw as I’m only doing carry on, I’ll look to buy them in Burgos though. Great idea. I could maybe not take the sleeping bag and just take a liner but I’m a cold sleeper and that worries me if it’s getting near October weather.
Also I have waterproof jacket instead of a fleece and waterproof trousers as my only other trousers other than walking shorts (if I don’t count my MC Hammer pants….almost kidding) 😂
Guys, I'm loving your videos, hoping to do this myself next June so I'm really paying attention to any and all of your little tips. I'm like an addict each day waiting for your next instalment! Buen camino!
Hey Geraldine...thank you, we love editing and publishing them as it reminds us of the amazing journey! All the best for starting next June! We are doing a Live Q&A session (th-cam.com/video/88XfJfr7YAY/w-d-xo.html) next Sunday evening 7:00pm (US Central time) if you would like to ask any questions)😃
@@EverydayJourneysTV I'm away camping at the weekend but will try and tune in on my phone. I need to ask about the possibility of running into loose or aggressive dogs, particularly when passing remote farm buildings! The least of any one else's concerns, but a really big one for me!
@@ggsdanders We can answer that for you now...we never came across any aggressive loose roaming dogs on our travels. There were dogs that were tied up that could be considered as 'barky'....but we never felt threatened by any.
@@EverydayJourneysTV Thank you so much for taking the time out to answer me guys, that does help put my mind at rest, I am determined to 'face the fear and do it anyway'! Will try my best to tune in on Sunday, hopefully it's 7pm UK time and not US central as it says up above. Take care x
@@ggsdanders no worries. It is US Central Time 7:00pm as we have quite a lot of US followers....if you would like to join us at 1:00am in the morning we would be happy to see you 😴

I (Mark aka Papa) loved walking the Camino...it has been one of the best things that I have ever achieved 😃

Hello from Australia. Beautiful scenery indeed. Love the flags on the backpacks btw :)
