    Louise, (Villamentero de Campos) is where I met you and your family on the Camino. I did not take a rest day in Carrion and continued my Camino to Santiago, so our paths did not cross again.

      Hey Chris...so what date did you get to Santiago? 👣

      @@EverydayJourneysTV I arrived on June 26th! Slowly savoring each episode you have posted. Poco a poco 🙂

    I think the health benefits of walking are well documented and it’s great that you are feeling the benefits

      It took us a little while to actually experience, but now that we have....😃

    I limped badly the entire day from Fromista to Carrion - shin splints on my right shin. If I hadn't had my staff, I don't know if I would have made it. I thought my Camino was over at Carrion, but then a friend introduced me to KT tape - it worked miracles on my shin and I was fully able to proceed. Camino provides! LOL Oh...I stayed at that same hostel in Carrion - every once in a while on the Camino I treated myself to my own room to escape humanity :)

      There are so many stories of people saying that the worst element was the lack of sleep, and I agree that having your own place to sleep once in awhile helped..however, I think I can honestly say for the majority of the Camino I have never slept so well 😴 Smooth move 👣

    Awesome discussion of your personal experience with health benefits. As a result of the Camino, I find myself currently in a much calmer and relaxed state. Hopefully, your health benefits will be sustained going forward. Ultrea

      Hey Chris...thank you, we still refer back to how great (minus the feet and blisters) we felt whilst walking the Camino 👣

    That’s so good about the positive health impacts of walking. You both look like you are thriving on it. And the young one looks like she was born on the camino.

      Lol...you are so right, she was born to be on the Camino and we all thrived on the walking, fresh air and general Camino spirit 😃

    Enjoying your videos!! I would be wearing a hat and sunglasses and along with hydration from the village fountains that should more than likely eliminate headaches. I stayed in CdelosC on 10 May.

      Thank you Graham, we enjoy pulling them together and sharing then on here. Not far behind you then 👣...and yes, probably all the water that we drank really helped with the headaches 👍

      @@EverydayJourneysTV Yes I seemed to drink litres off water a day, given the unshaded paths. A great experience! And great to relive it by watching you retrace my steps!! Well done! 🏃🏼🥾🇪🇸

    wow! how interesting to know the health benefits from walking! Do you think the lack of headaches is partly because your eye muscles are much more relaxed, looking at the scenery, then staring at a computer/phone screen all day? Now if only you could find a way to do the same thing without the aches and blisters, you could market it and sell it!😁

    • @EverydayJourneysTV
      @EverydayJourneysTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally Flowers Flowers...the reduction from all of the modern technology (we did do some screen work whilst away, but so much less) certainly seems to be a factor. Lol....we would all be millionaires if we could solve that 🤣

    Followed you here from Ivar...a couple of notes for your amusement.
    I find that sufficiently hard and hot exercise suppresses my hot flashes until I cool down again. Enjoy! (Beer, however, can trigger mine... then, I put up with them. I found beer excellent for rehydration and electrolytes. ;)

      Hey...great to see you over here on YT, and yes the beer helped us also along the route 🤣

    Too bad toy did not get a chance to stay at Santa Maria. The nuns there sing so sweetly with the pilgrims and include them in their church service. Glad you had a rest day planned though.

      Maybe next time, one of our fellow pilgrims stayed there and she relished it! 👣

    Í have hérað there used to be bed bugs. Have that been taken care off?

    • @EverydayJourneysTV
      @EverydayJourneysTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be cautious...we managed to escape being affected by any bed bugs and we did not hear of any other Pilgrims getting bed bugs either. Most places have plastic beds with disposable liners for the beds and pillows so the chances of getting bugs are low in these places 👍
