It definitely looks more fun. I'm a big Govee fan, but the stupid branding on the front kills it for me.
I've 2 govee aura lamps either side of my tv,I agree with you with the stupid branding on the front. Fortunately it comes off without any damage to the lamp with some regular nail varnish remover with acetone. They look much slicker after removing the branding
@@mrdickdynamite Interesting, can you confirm that you can remove it without 0 damage using acetone? I'm thinking of buying the product myself and like you've mentioned, the branding is really putting me off. I'm torn between this or the Moonside lamp. If I can easily remove that stupid logo then I'll definitely buy the Govee Aura lamp.
They are both great lamps! But I'd say go for the Moonside if you're concerned about the branding. The Moonside Lamp one is just clean looking from every direction.
@@lfmm97 sorry only seen a notification about this comment today,yes I can 100% confirm absolutely no damage. I looked up a video about logo or branding removal on yt and figured I'd give it a shot and tested it on a small part at the back of the lamp first that no one would see if it did damage to check what effect it had. I just used some cotton pads poured on the nail varnish remover and wiped,it smudges the logo at first then a light fade and it'll eventually disappear think it took me like 3 mins each one. I was actually gonna record it but figured no one would get any use out of it. It really does make a massive difference as I lived with the branding on them for like 6 months and would cuss it's position on the lamp every day until I decided to go for it. Hope this helps.

just got the moonside one, and damn the subtle rounded pill shape, the beautifully smooth leds, and the compact size make it absolutely superior in my opinion. i personally dont find brightness to be an issue for me but my room lights are almost always off so i dont rlly care

I got the Govee and I love it but will buy the moon side as it seems like maybe the scenes are more smoother

I have the moonside lamp, and it's just such a fun thing to have. I pretty much always have the fire preset running, which actually looks pretty convincing. The other presets are fun too, and best af all, you can make your own presets!

And I want to create DJ content, I also have a lot of ambient light, but I have no idea which camera to use to make the colours pop out the same way as you do.
Hi Shaquille. Thanks for watching appreciate the support! To answer your question,. the camera is not so important. If it were as simple as buying a particular model of camera then everyone would do it! Instead focus on learning lighting principals for video, and how to manually set the exposure of whatever camera your using in combination with your ambient lights to achieve certain moods. I also use plenty of pro video lights to help with the look! There are plenty of vids on YT to help you learn more about lighting and get started! All the best.

I finally got the Moonside one, but shipping from China is taking like a month ;( Love your videos! How come you have no black light bars, is it a camera thing or are you averse to them?
Would love to experiment with some black lights, just not sure it would add anything to the space with all the other lights washing them out.
Could you review TWINKLY 600 RGBW xmas lights ? It looks like the best lights out there, even has a sort of videomapping in its app.
I like Moonside better, but without an app like Govee... if it did have an app, I'd buy, even tho then I'd have to have two separate apps to access all my lights (I already have a bunch of Govee). Also, the automation function that Govee has is one of the best features. SO nice to have lights turn on, change mode/color, turn off, all on a pre-set schedule. Love coming home when my home is already lit.
By the way here's a request for some blacklight stuff 🙂
Love the moonside. If only any of those lamps had a motion sensor it would be the most perfect lamp for me and I would not think twice about buying it.
I don't think there are any high quality lamps like govee or Philips hue that have the motion sensor, right?
You could get a smart motion sensor and set it to control the lamp.

Beware that Moonside company has no customer support, they don’t deliver for months and won’t cancel your order either. Plus they just ghost you if you ask for shipping updates 😢
Had the Moonside Lamp One for over a year. Was loving the design and the colors, but always noticed weird glitches when changing colors via the app or even trying to shut the device off. Finally, after a year it just randomly broke. Froze on a weird color configuration and would not power off or reset. I reached out to customer support, did some digging online and apparently other people have had a similar issue. The software support is just nonexistent, and it seems it's just a matter of time before it breaks.
Regrettably bought the Govee Aura to replace it, which in my opinion has an inferior design and ugly Govee Branding. But regardless, I'm hoping that since it seems better supported and stable via the app/software it'll hold up better than the Moonside. Just my review for anyone who is curious!

Welp, I needed another lamp and was going back and forth and ended-up buying Moonside despite being $20 more (Govee AURA on sale right now) and 3-4 weeks shipping (ooof), and a questionable app/wifi performance according to reviews. That's how much I like the look, shape and seemingly nicer light patterns. Will leave an update once I receive (LONG time from now).

@@maxdes19 hi, yes I did! The light has been everything suggested by others - much better and more appealing colors and patterns than Govee. I don't hardly even use any patterns with my Govee lights, but the Moonside I use multiple patterns every day. There are a "campfire" and "embers" patterns that are super nice. On the Govee, the campfire and candlelight patterns are not even close.
The one thing that Govee has over the Moonside is the automation feature in the app. I love my Govee lights pattern. Every day my lights turn on and off, and also change color and brightness according to a schedule. My Moonside lamp is strictly manual.
I think Govee is good to replace regular bulbs, but for the table and lava lamp comparison, Moonside blows Govee away. And after a couple months, the Moonside seems to be running strong. I did have a little issue in setting-up the app originally, and I can only seem to get the app working on one of my phones - so the app could use some upgrading. But for one phone it seems to work fine.

DO NOT BUY THE MOONSIDE LAMP ONE. I’ve never had an issue with a company or a purchase perhaps ever. Now I’m in the middle of a huge battle with these guys after they lied and told me the product was shipped, all of the sudden one month later they said “oh yah we forgot to ship it”
I told them I didn’t want it anymore and wanted a refund and they forcibly still sent the product to me. Now it’s lead to a battle with customs and I had to dispute the transaction with VISA. This is the most unprofessional and disgusting business practice I’ve ever dealt with. They’re completely unprofessional and potentially crooks.

I would recommend against Moonside as of now. Their app is full of bugs, and the smart features crashes it. The design and smoothness looks eons behind govee.
