The Safety Car lasts about as long as it takes to make the track green for racing again. It depends also on what has happened on the track, like say a crash that left a lot of debris and the crashed car on the road, if that happens it would take much longer as the people who clear the debris may take a while to clean up the mess. Even if the mess is negligible, if the safety car is out, it's obligated to complete its lap around the circuit. The SC roughly takes around 7 to 9 minutes around the circuit so expect to waste 10 minutes over an SC lap, and probably more depending on the severity of a crash or weather conditions. If it had taken 6 laps for an SC to go around the circuit, then that's 1 hour of just the Safety Car lmao.
The amount of bad luck Peugeot had this week is unbelievable not great BOP Bad strategy call at the first rain shower multiple penalties and spins they would be on the pews lap right now
They have the same power as the Toyota and Ferrari, even in weight they're slightly at the same level, the Ferrari is 4kg lighter and the Toyota 6kg heavier! The BoP is clearly not the explanation, my guess is the car is simply bad 4kg doesn't explain the 2 laps gap.
I've seen this in road driving. People will watch the car ahead instead of the road. He saw a wiggle and possibly presumed an issue. He might have had a heavy stint and wasnt on his marks.
Peugeot got ripped in by the FIA with the worse BoP (or second to worse) of all the top category, despite the fact that they haven't yet proven to be that fast. Explanation is that the FIA treats the 9x8 as a new car and is cautious to give them too much leeway to not be caught up by surprise by their speed, but at this point it starts to feel a bit disingenuous. So Peugeot never had a chance to be competitive, they got nerfed hard.
Well you could theoretically be faced with conditions you did not expect... predicting what the car is gonna do is a huge part of racing as a whole, if you do something and the car does something you didn't expect, your race may well be over
How has bop ruined the race? Or do you just say that cause your favorite team isn’t winning? The safety car rules are a big time consumer for sure but bop has most of the cars on the same lap and seconds apart even after 12 hours or more. What’s wrong with that?
@@marks7197 artificial? Not exactly. It is rules set to make competition better or every race would be terrible. And safety cars are a necessity. They just take forever. But I guess you’d like to see just the super rich teams stomp everyone and win by multiple laps every race? Every single racing series in the entire world has performance rules and limits. Literally every single one buddy
@@alanluscombe8a553 Of course all motor racing has rules, but the current rules are artificial by allowing teams a leg up if they built a poorer car than their competition. This is fundamentally against the history of sportscar/endurance racing. The safety car is not an issue aside from them allowing cars to overtake in order to bunch the field and negating any advantage cars have built up against one another. Again it's false and orchestrated to give the impression of competition. Le Mans is the greatest race in the world but the current rules reduce the event to a sprint from the last safety car, like it's NASCAR or something crap. Bring back Group C fuel rules and leave teams to run the best car they can.
Is every French car cursed in this race
Because of Macron?

The only logical reason. That’s why he couldn’t even hit the pause button in time before the crash
24hrs of the Safety Car
how long does the safety car last? when i watched it it's already on SC stage then after several. hours i cam back and still at safety car
@kawaiicloe4287 about 6 hrs. The safety cars even run out of fuel, have to replace by another safety cars.

That's It...i think there's no have an experience drivers for these race
YES!! RIGHT?! Just stup1d. Safety car shtt just make racing boring. We want to see crash, we want to see actual RACING
1:21 “ Nico ….try reverse” No shit bat man 😂
Anyone getting a de ja vu when a Peugeot 908 went off at that same corner since 2011 of Le Mans.
"We need to wait for the tractor", Sorry the Alpines are already out of the race.
Really sad to see Peugeot didn't made it. 😕
peut être dans une course de caisse à savon , ils peuvent faire un podium ?
Peugeot...Alphine.. what`s wrong with you...come oooooon...😢

Yeah hopefully next year they have an even better race

Well, there goes the WEC program.
Back in the day the 905 won totally
It was a beast
Thank you
Oh no, not the Peugeot! Go Cadillac! Not concerned about the Alpine Renaults. Similar things happened in 1977. They look nice though.

Peugeot used to make competitive race cars... What happened?

What happened here. Well its a Sunday and a Peugeot sooooooooooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The wing didn't work then
La faute c'était de la voiture d'avant.
crashing under safety car condition is lame
Como se puede salir en una de las curvas mas lentas y joder la carrera?? En fin

What BOP? The Toyota was 6kg heavier and still way more faster.
🤣
A miserable joke is this!
