Look up information on the OE Virus as related to the dwindling Monarch population, Seems like the native milkweeds are OK but the Tropical varieties so popular these days may be part of the problem. The TH-cam channel MrLundScience has lots of info on it.

My small clay soil garden has hot summer sun, more than 15 miles form the Pacific. Coastal area demands a different plant I just ordered Aclepias eriopcarpa (Wooly Pod milkweed). I was told the Asc. California is difficult to grow. I noticed the Mex. Whorled Milkweed---Asc. Facsciculris in your video. Is the Wooly Pod a difficult plant for my growing condition? I am trying to encourage neighbors to grow for Monarchs, & appreciate any information.

I appreciate your efforts. I am trying to grow California milkweed with limited success. I think the spot I have them in is a little too shady.
