As a concrete mason guy the g-shock I take to work is the ggb100 💪👍 ,the screen on the ga900 not so good specially if you are wearing protected eye wear that we have to have on all the time in construction , now try ready the time on this poor screen lol .

If you buy other models for the GA-900, even with a negative display, the display is clear and crisp. It is better than other displays for G-Shocks like the square ones
It is interesting that the clip covering the movement is upside down and there are several alternative places for backlight LEDs, but casio decided to use only a single LED on the bottom of the screen... It looks almost like a g-shock assembled from what left in the bucket from other projects. The only positive variant of GA-900 (GA900-2AJF / 2A / 2AER) was discontinued this month which is kind of sad. Casio just continues to blackout its lines of digital and anadigy watches.
i GOT GA-900C-1A4 (with Orange canvas strap.) It does have metal buckle (similar to high visibility variant), which I love. The negative screen is hard to read in low light environment. Luckily analogue hands are rather easy to read even low light. The illumination with single led is really bad. I wish they would have ad second led to give better illumination and decrease number of shadows. Over all I am still happy with mine.
The LED light is point less, you can't even see the time when enabling it in dark areas. Specially when it only lights up half of the screen. Wished the numbers would glow, but nope. So pretty much is bad for night time if you don't have enough light around. Still a great looking watch

Good looking G-Shock! I like the orange/red tips on the hands for contrast in reading the analog time against that dial. A lot of the Ana-digi’s lose analog time telling functionality due to a handset that blends in.
@@WatchGeek Anything(analog-digital) with a legible, illuminated display that doesn't cost $300? Paying $200-300 more just to get a decent digital display is too much.
@@MrCarpen7er My GW-9400 also has fake screws. Why should a much cheaper watch have real screws? For me it is only important that these screws do not get loose and fall out. CASIO just thinks it looks good. And that is usually the case.
im gonna have to ask you to clear up something...keeping it simple without solar and atomic??? that is the weirdest thing to me since my gravity master and gofmaster are the simplest watches to maintain. i never have to adjust the time or change the battery. that is way more simple than the reverse.
to be honest, the high visibility strap feels cheap, the buckle is made of thin alluminium which makes me feel like im gonna accidentally bend that. thats not the case with resin ban tho except the plastic buckle drawback.
and speaking about the display issue, the black/white negative display works fine, and also remember that its a hybrid watch, i.e has both analogue and digital, you can see the time using the analogue hands anytime.

it's not just the screen. g-shocks have lost the plot. this one in particular, feels cheap and is ugly. i just compared it to my 15 year old solar g-shock, that is stylish and the size of a normal watch and you can read it with ease. why do grown ups indulge in calling today's g-shock, watches, is beyond me
Yeah poor visibility of the screen, functions of the watch and blacked out labeling for what the pushers do....this watch was NOT made for the working man. Its for desk jockeys who like the idea of wearing a tool watch for the working man but not really knowing what that is. The blue version is they way I would go 100 percent of the time. I don't know why Casio focuses on these blacked out watches. Are there that many people who want their watch to be a wrist decoration and not a watch? Why not just get a cool bracelet then? Also the strap is a good idea for heavy industry workers....but those people already have to wear safety clothing every where so don't be too sure they want to wear that on their watch too. Lastly they SHOULD have put solar panels on these watches. I used to work on survey crews before I got my office job. The last thing people who work outside or labour intensive jobs want is to have to worry about a battery, The only time this would not be the case is if they have to wear protective clothing that cover up the solar enough that it does not get enough charge during the day but your right about the count down timer. A work day is 8-12 hours. Having only 60 minutes seems stupid.
A G-Shock is a special watch for special needs. And it is much smarter than these so-called outdoor-smartwatches from well-known manufacturers. I always laugh myself dead when I read 5ATM.

Man I wish Casio upgrade their entire lineup with the MIP displays.
The GBX was a good start, too bad the Glide stuff is useless for me.
You can buy the GBD if the G-Lide stuff is not your thing.

Only the green screen versions are hard to read. My blue is just fine.
