At 12:47 you show a yellow house at the end of Gary Rd, that is my parents house. We were in the large house next door watching the surge reach the soffits of the roof. So about 10-12 feet of water over the road, flood adjuster measured 87 inch water line inside the house.
Just a couple blocks east of Valley Drive we looked at a home behind where the Vincent DuPaul store is now. While I would have loved to be close enough to ride my bike to the beach, I told my husband I didn't like the idea of an empty lot right in front of the house on Bonita Beach Road, (where Vincent DuPaul is now) They could have put anything there. Gas Station, Fast Food-- gotta Listen to the voices in your head.
I love watching your videos.I live in Bonita, off Old41, north of Terry St. We got lucky in my neighborhood, Imperial Harbor. But,I've saw alotta neighborhoods that were alott less lucky than us. Thanx for doing what you're doing ! Stay safe , & ✌
Fort Myers beach is open but there is nothing left to it I live right next to it and work on main street and they have not cleaned up much down there so be vary careful
I wonder if they didn't bother to pick up as quickly in the Bonita neighborhood simply because those homes are uninhabitable, whereas the areas with less damage or flooding were prioritized.
When waiting for insurance company to verify loss and you have taken out items to save your house from further damage, people coming by and removing the proof of property damage that you need can create problems and as I saw similar signs after flooding in my area, I think that's what it's about (loot and we'll shoot). It's a devastating time in so many ways.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS No?? Really? I left Collier in 2015 and we were paying much higher taxes. But I lived close to the beach, so maybe I pay more for beach renourishment?

The scrapers are doing a great service. I'm surprised there's not more

Yeah. Kentucky the same activity was to restore the infrastructure? 07-28-2022 Whitesburg, KY - 07-28-2022 Whitesburg, KY Flooding
The police had said, you might go into a house but you won't walk out!
Actually they should allow scappers to come in, IT CLEANS UP THE AREA-BY THE ROAD ONLY
I wonder if they didn't bother to pick up as quickly in the Bonita neighborhood simply because those homes are uninhabitable, whereas the areas with less damage or flooding were prioritized.
I wish that was the case.
THAT'S MY UNCLE JAMES OMG

5 cents a pound ? Can they cover gas costs ?
$100 a ton you do the math
Our collection points are 3 times more expensive to buy for all positions of metals.

Naples cleaned quicker because house taxes are so high. That allows Collier to clean up quickly.
Bonita has higher taxes than naples

Collier had MUCH less damage than Lee...that's why it was picked up faster.
Scrappers are not looters at least they're working not stealing 🤑
Hard work bad pay
They need to let the vultures come in and recycle a lot of the debris that's piling up all over the place. Better than let it fill up the landfills.
