Actually Australian authorities arrested 183 people for arson as the 24 people who are the ones that purposefully lit the fires as the rest were due to negligence of various types...

These fires demand aerial drones be used, people can't get close enough.
Consider needing hovercraft tanker squadrons of 50 = 50k•gal/189k•L in the air on-station, no refueling => magnet powered, no recharging.
    No prop•wash!
That's the MAIN issue, it can be solved 2 ways, the jetski principle fluid impulse motor doesn't need AIR to fly the best.
To handle miles of firefront is due to the inability of current methods & machines to deal with FLARES & EMBERS igniting ahead of the front & mobility for how fast they move.
So, one needs to MIST & nozzle low to the ground & treat the leading tendrils dead out with rapid response to hot spots.
The hovercraft can't have PROPWASH, there aren't any of these 5000hp class machines built for this in the HANGER.
These are design constraints, one CANNOT violate or the design won't work.
To "fight" these fires dead out needs battalions of squadrons & bets you got plenty of folks to work in armies, navies & air forces & they have firefighters.
BOTTOMLINE: The costs of losing forests last for centuries, any type of canopy forest DOUBLES RAINFALL.
You can't replace that MOISTURE or lower story DIVERSITY by PLANTING trees.
It takes 25yrs for 50% CO2 sequester & mature forests are CARBON-NEUTRAL when they burn
