The best thing about this deck is that it's budget, especially when compared with the reworked factions that require almost if not all their legendaries to properly work
I mean most factions needed Legendaries even before reworks. Though it was mostly Neutrals, but most Neutrals today don't hit that mark as being very good utility like back then. Seems they shifted from good neutral legendaries to good in faction legendaries. To make players spend cash on a specific crate or grind.
this commander is REALLY too strong because he has 2 op abilities : - he can destroy any units with 3 wounds for only 2 mana : it's extremely good for early control - as he is played with traitor auxilias, ALL units get +1/+1 : too strong
his ability is usually the worst thing you can do, if you waste E on his ability you are not putting in play troops, and if you are not keeping up the pressure it can be very easy for the opponent to slowly outperform you on the board and then you just lose thats why Cthonian Lasrifle is so good, now you can do 3 dmg with facebash + Lasrifle Resolution (assuming there only is 1 troop) while still keeping up momentum the passive +1/+1 is still silly though 😅
Cthonian Companion was the best card they could have given them, a playable 4E troop with good stats that also draws troops on Reso also Cthonian Lasrifle so you no longer need to use ability of Dupain to clear early game 3 HP troops anymore and lose tempo
