    All I can say is WOW! This soap is amazing at removing mineral buildup and cleaning coatings deeply. Water staining gets pulled right off.

    Descale is the #1 maintenance product for ceramic coatings. I was amazed at the water behavior after I used it. I didn't even realize how clogged the coating was.

    I was excited that CarPro brought this to market this year. There has been a gap in the detailing world when it comes to acidic soaps. When doing a decontamination wash, it is usually recommended that BOTH an acidic and high PH soap be used separately washing the vehicle to attack different types of contamination. No doubt that CarPro Descale will be an instant hit with detailers and enthusiasts who do decontamination washes. For an enthusiast who may only do a decon wash a few times a year, one bottle may last a couple years which is a good value. Can't wait to get this stuff next month when Sky's The Limit finally has it on sale. My question is, do you need to wear nitrile gloves when using this in a bucket? Does it harm the skin due to the acidic nature of the shampoo? I know that very high PH soaps, you definitely need gloves as it will burn the skin.

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always a good idea to wear gloves. That being said, the ph level of the soap is around 5-6. When diluted with water, it's very close to neutral. I believe it is more the acidic surfactants doing the work than the ph level. Same with lift which is an alkaline soap.

      @@BelLavoroAutoSpa OK thanks. Good to know you probably won't fry your fingers and hands if you use it without gloves in a bucket if by chance you don't wear gloves.

    Do you really need a dedicated stripping shampoo? Why not just add some APC in the bucket wash or spray diluted APC directly on the car before washing? I haven't tested this, but in my mind I can't imagine there being much difference...

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      APC is high alkaline. Descaling is acidic. Acid dissolves minerals. Helpful if you have hard water that can leave deposits over time not visible to the eye.

    One has to use a lot of product, making Descale fairly prohibitive. I use a 20 litre bucket and need about 200ml per wash., so 2 washes and change. That it isnt required on weekly washes makes it a bit more bearable... but for a car parked outside, in a tropical country, I have frequent need to decontaminate.
    It is a good product to have in the Carpro stable nonetheless.

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, the concentrations definitely are not the best. I find using 1.5 gallons of water in a bucket is enough water to wash so I can use less soap, or I will foam it on

    • @yanniobkirk5744
      @yanniobkirk5744 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or maybe just don’t fill your bucket to 20 liters. That’s an excessive amount of water/soap for even the largest vehicles.
      Don’t get me wrong I use 5 gallon buckets too but to do a specialized wash with descale I can’t imagine even needing 1/5 the bucket to cover the entire car.

    • @CiceroThePhilosopher
      @CiceroThePhilosopher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yanniobkirk5744 i should have added - I typically use 16L of water and this is just right for me I think. My car is fairly large, and tend to use use one “load” per panel - door, hood, etc. less if really dirty. My (unscientific) thinking is that having more solution in the bucket keeps the layer of dirt from rising too high to get into the mitt. Probably overkill.
      Incidentally, I also use Purifica from Labocosmetica and it has slightly better legs, though I cannot comment how its cleaning power compares to Descale.
      Ps: I also moved on from using a bucket for acid washes. Instead I dilute 1:10 in a spray bottle, and within a bucket of clean water for rinsing the mitt, and spraying directly on the panel and the mitt.

    Have you considered rinsing with flowing water from a hose with no nozzle at all? I’ve read numerous professional detailers who recommend this.

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but it is a pain to have to go back to the spigot and turn the pressure down to get the flow right. Easier just to use a leaf blower when I'm done or DI water.

    used on 4 months old SIC coating, lower door panel completely flat ,no beading ,little sheeting. two weeks ago, beading was not best but sheeting was good. hood rear bumper was good though, guess that area picked most dirt and grime ,coating already not in perfect shape which was broken down by acid shampoo !not gonna use as decon routine

      @@BelLavoroAutoSpa I just let it sit more than 10 mins and agitate with mitt followed by instruction. maybe time is too long ,or wash too hard , mixed about 150ml to 1L to get rid of mineral deposits . turned out most deposits are gone but also lower panel protection .

    There new line up is already in sale in Canada including this acidic soap. My question is, is it a good soap to use to prep the car before a polish and ceramic coating or i should get ironx snow soap. Even though i am going to use carpro reload as an ipa, i want a soap that will remove the maximum of dirt. I want to also use it in the bucket and the snow foam. After the application of uk 3.0, i will wash my vehicle with Carpro Reset or Koch Chemie gentle snow foam. Thanks

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is definitely suitable for prep as a snow foam or in a bucket. For max benefit I would use lift as a foam and this in the bucket. Iron x soap is better for maintenance of coated cars for iron deposits. Descale is especially beneficial if you have hard water.

      I am totally bought into the CarPro 'ecosystem' of products. I have CQuartz UK 3 on my black car and I only use Reset as my soap. My typical weekly/bi-monthly wash method is:
      1. Wash the wheels with Reset in a dedicated wheel bucket. Spray wheels down with IronX if needed.
      2. Rinse the car heavily with water.
      3. With a spray bottle full of MultiX (diluted 20:1) and a detail brush, wash exterior plastics, badges and window seals.
      4. Rinse
      5. Two bucket method with Car Pro Reset from top to bottem.
      6. Rinse.
      7. Dry with giant microfiber towel. I don't have a garage otherwise i'd use a BigBoi blower. (hope to have one soonm)
      8. Spray 3-5 sprays of CarPro EliXir into dry microfiber towel and wipe down each panel. With a separate microfiber towel, buff off to a crazy shine. Every 2 months or so, I'll do this step with CarPro Reload instead of EliXir.
      9. Admire
