    If you like markets go to the old Soviet Union swap meets! You can find different things from around The Soviet Union and around the world and see what quality goods they had back in the day! You probably can spend days at a place like that! I love that kind of stuff!

    In Pridnestrovie, a number of laws have been adopted banning the use of the term "transnistria" in relation to Pridnestrovie. In 1941-1944, when Romania occupied the current territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, it was called "Transnistria". At that time, there were mass deportations and persecutions of the local population, including the Jewish population, which left a heavy imprint on the people's memory. The use of this term today can be perceived as disrespect for the victims of these events and as an attempt to distort historical memory. The name Pridnestrovie should not be translated into English, Romanian or other languages.

    There were no such restaurants in the Soviet Union. All this has been done in recent years to attract tourists. And many other Soviet attributes have been created in recent years for the same purpose.

      @@J.E.E The building itself was built a long time ago, but it was an ordinary cafe. And now they have "blinded" something to attract tourists. In fact, what remained of the Soviet period was what they decided to leave to attract tourists. Everything is not as it seems.

      @@BartSmith85У многих советских людей Советский Союз вспоминается как добрые времена. Поверьте, не так всё плохо было при СССР. Самое главное была уверенность в завтрашнем дне.

    • @BartSmith85
      @BartSmith85 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ОльгаБ-ц3р I understand that for some people this era was good. For me, not so much. I think the only thing that was great was the food (definitely better & cheaper that we see today). Maybe I would also add cheap milk bars, but they weren't that great to be honest. The problems started when you wanted to travel or buy an uncommon/better quality product (not all were badly made in communist/soviet country though - some were actually good & reliable). You could have money, but you couldn't really buy the stuff you wanted or the choice was very limited. Either you had to know a person who could help you get it, have a political party member in you family or wait until you get a specific labour voucher. On top of that, if you tried being an independent thinker, there was a high chance you'll be in big trouble. Communism is for people who like to think like the party wants you to think or who turn a blind eye to communist politics. The more you were quiet, the better (and easier) it was for you.
