I really appreciate these Ramadan lectures. For me, I have tried reading the Quran in direct translation of English multiple times, and always had a hard time understanding some of the things due to my lack of knowledge and my difficulty in understand old English. I am learning so much from these lectures and have such a better understanding of the surahs. Jzk for these lectures. May Allah reward you!
Sister muslim men are allowed to marry christian and jews women but not encouraged they are encouraged to marry muslim women bcoz quran says that believing slave women is better than disbeliever women as umar ibn al khattab(r.a) and other scholars view is that muslim men can marry christian and jews women only if they do not find muslim women and it will be allowed only in islamic state which guaranteed to raise children as a muslim and quran itself says not to marry if men can control themselves it will be more better or they find christian and jews as scholar view best is to control
Secondly the question is why women are not allowed to marry christian and jews might have many answer but according to me the reason behind it is that in christianity and judaism at that time and to this day as well women can't nullify marriage or divorce her husband and there are many ruling for women in christianity and judaism that are horrible for women by the way allah knows best
What I do is First I listen to the word to word tafseer of the surah and after that I come and listen to this as a summary! It is very beneficial this way,as you can recall the main verses! If the surah is short I read the english translation too All of this combine makes an excellent study of the surah I go surah by surah! Alhamdulillah Ma Sha Allah Happiness is increasing your knowledge of Quran being a non Arab and knowing what Allah has commanded us❤️ Peace and blessings to all my sisters and brothers in Islam
It's not easy to summarize a long surah and point out on the main points جزاكم الله خيراً يا شيخنا The Quran speaks to the nature of mankind سبحان الله .. While the feminists' movement is getting more aggressive, now we find many non-Muslim western women look and long for a husband who's willing to be in charge and lead the family. Discipline and physical abuse are not the same. It's not an issue for practicing Christians and Jews, why do we (Muslims) make it controversial? I don't understand.

As an indian muslim and only teenager i m shocked to know that there is system of maher in islam meaning that in islam husband gift wives but in india even muslims do opposite husband get reward may allah protect all indian muslim from this ignorance My mother has been abused and torture many time bcoz she did not find money and wealth from her family that's why my father even commit these stuff beside being maulana of my village

Baraka Allah fiik. Secondly, in surat alnisaa you didn't not mention the aya that speaks about polygamy... my question is, the aya starts with saying if you are not able to be fair with the orphans then you can marry two or three or four as long as you treat them equal, notwithstanding, you can't treat them equally; what is the relation between polygamy and orphans... the muslim world has taken it as a given that u can marry 2 and 3 and four but total silence on the context of orphans. Would greatly appreciate it if you can explain how the orphans are related to polygamy and why polygamy is spoken of in the context of orphans? And is it only related to situations of orphans ladies?

Every kind of knowledge has its own destined audience this type of presentation is just to layout the basic understanding of the Quran for those who have never ever come across with anything concerning the message of the quran but if you are knowledgeable enough alot of thorough tafsir class are out there for you all over other youtube channels and saying this should be put into books this is not making any sense because there is no shortage for the books of tafsir ranging from simplified ones such as tafsir ibn kathir all the way to the classical ones such as tafsir twabali but are all these reasanable to the strangers of quranic knowledge? So like the prophet used to say that everything is judged by its intention please first understand the objective or purpose of the act before come foward and criticise on the basis your own objectives regardless of the intended ones

The translation by M.A.S. Abdel Haleem - Oxford World Classics is an easy to read English version. For the modern reader brother!
