Today is the first time I have watched your videos and have loved them! You explain the steps of making arrangements so that it is easy to understand. I appreciate your fun, upbeat personality! You make learning a joy! Looking forward to more tutorials!
Thank you so much! This is amazing! I really appreciate the support and I will upload another very soon. The next one will be about the funeral brochure xxx
Bits of your job are kind of stressful I realize. People mainly employ the services of a florist when they are celebrating major events like weddings and funerals and birthdays. Usually they are super stressed themselves because their event is major. Stressed out people can sometimes be very rude. You give out such good info especially regarding looking after yourself.
Stumbled across your channel and its AMAZING!! Thank you so much for all this information. Im going to sit with a notepad and binge your videos 😂 I'm in the very early early stages of starting up a business from home. I'm just struggling with prices. I want to be affordable but not cripple myself doing so. Any tips? 😊❤
Thank you so much! Congrats on your floristry business! Working from home is the way forward for florists these days to make a nice living. So with the pricing I always x my stems by 3 from the price I bought them, this lets me know that the profit, time and skill is properly paid for as well as being able to compete with competition. I would suggest, knowing that you’ve just started and want brand awareness is to have a cheaper bouquet option, using flower like chrysanthemums and carnations arranged beautifully, but these can be sold cheaper. When I first started, I used to sell bouquets on Facebook market place for £15 with free delivery, I lost money, but still now, those people who bought from me when I sold my flowers cheaply still come back now as I formed relationships with them. Make sure you put your face to your work and people will see you as a person not just a florist xx
Hi Jem, well done on the concise way you deliver your tutorials. I would love to know how you arrange your car/van for deliveries. I have a car and sometimes hire a van for funeral tributes but struggle when I use the car.
Hi lovely! I think I may have replied to this question before, but I had a cat for years and just put the back seats down lol and the car got really messy so I got a van, but the car still worked. If I needed any other space I asked my family to come with me and fill their cars as well. Anything is possible. My van has been so much easier, but not necessarily xx
I work from home , I always use a supplier unless I run short then I will purchase in supermarket , to be fair to the supermarket their lillies and basic colour roses are excellent I don't produce lesser artistic arrangements as I am fully trained and do make stand out items my leftover flowers I use for funeral work or Put in hatboxes in oasis till I get an order I love being my own boss too Some days I don't have any orders at all say for one or two But that's fine for me time
I can completely relate to this! If I have left over flowers sometime I also just put them on social media at a reduced price if I know they aren’t going to be used for anything else xx
I do all my deliveries by hand as the post destroys and the haulage companies always go on strike so people don’t get their flowers until they are dead and it reflects bad on me! It’s not worth it xx
Thank you for this. Any tips on getting your name out there? I've done some leaflet drops I'm on socials - fb but it's just finding those customers.. I'm focusing on sympathy flowers.. Have a lovely day! x
Yep, that’s what I did first, the funeral flowers. I found this difficult to get a social media just posting funeral flowers though so I started making big bouquets with the flowers I had for the funerals to grab people’s attention. The best advertisement I found to be instagram and Facebook and posting often on Facebook market place with cheaper prices at first just for brand awareness xxx
This is amazing! It’s hard being a one man show isn’t it! I can just about cope, but dread the mess at the end of the day 🤣 then answering the phone when you want to crack on is also a struggle for me! Xxx
