    Hirap maging CPA. Kelangang desidido ka talaga or passion mo ang accounting. Mababa kasi passing rate. 20% or less ang passing rate recently? Talagang madugo. Kudos to all CPAs! Talagang butas ng karayom ang dadaanan mo. As an OFW, I feel mas madali maging CPA sa ibang bansa kesa sa Pinas.

      I fully agree Sir. Yes, OFW rin yung magulang ko at some point and napansin ko na mas madali and mas mataas sahod talaga sa ibang bansa ng mga CPA. =)

      Currently studying to be a CPA in the PH, what do you think of the idea also getting a CPA title on another country?

    • @KuyaLemon
      @KuyaLemon  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@andreibarbiran For me? Better to get a CPA title from another country if you will work abroad.
      CPA title from other countries is recognized more (US, AUS, Chartered Accountants).
      Although it takes longer to attain and MORE expensive.
      But in the long run, for me, as a professional in Singapore, I'd say CPA title from abroad is more helpful.
      If hindi ka magwowork abroad, I guess PH CPA is okay. But it's so difficult. Also, kapag mag Mamasters ka for Professional Accountancy, I noticed that hindi siya masyadong recognized abroad (I know because I considered applying for Masters in Prof. Accountancy)

    Nasama na rin sana yung gastos pagkuha ng CPD (unless kasama sa benefits)

    • @KuyaLemon
      @KuyaLemon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, di ko nasama to. Pero, medyo negative yung CPD for me (and other CPAs na kakilala ko) kasi madaming units and as far as I know mahal siya kapag hindi subsidized. Although, sa Firm kasi alam ko subsizied siya which is part of the modules na need itake sa firm. :)
      But to be fair, need rin po kasi yung CPD and helpful sa updates sa standards and rules but I think sana consider ung cost din.

      Hi! I think you're looking for a bridging program. Sabi kasi sa RA 9298 na dapat holder of a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy kasi so yun ung ginagawa ng bridging program (from a non BSA coursr to a BSA degree holder).
      Usually yung mga school ng offer sila ng bridging program pero it depends a lot sa bachelor's degree mo. I think you can ask a school that offers bridging programs and ask them if mawawaive yung minor subjects.

    I thought mababa sweldo ng CPA. Possible po pala talaga maka 6-digits jan monthly??
    Highschool student po

    • @KuyaLemon
      @KuyaLemon  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yup. Altho, madami mababa sweldo ng CPA pero doesn't mean lahat ganun. Di kasi pwde iovergeneralize kasi sa stats mismo merong outliers.
      To get six digits, competitive dapat and mataas level ng responsibility. Also, nagmamatter ung company, experience, role, and also negotiation skills mo.
      Napansin ko din na ung mga may six digits salary, maganda ung background and magagaling talaga (di lang dahil CPA sila but meron talaga edge like super smart, dami credentials, top of class) - in short, CPA na pero overperformers pa kaysa sa average CPA. Tbh, may mga CPA diyan tahimik lang pero matataas starting pays sa well renowned firms - pero mga top of the batch lang nakakapasok kaya it PAYS to be top sa clsss and smart. CPA title is just icing to the cake.
      Majority of CPAs probably don't reach that though kaya emphasis on outliers.

      @@KuyaLemon ohhh okay po. Do you have any idea po ba sa benefits ng pag mamasters in either finance, accounting, or business abministration? Mas tataas po ba chances ng career growth?

    • @KuyaLemon
      @KuyaLemon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CashMoney000 tbh plano ko din pero iniisip ko kasi stuck between ako sa Masters based sa answers ng colleagues ko both from SG and PH.
      Pero definitely mas taas ung career growth. Altho ung iba kasi may MBA pero underperforming sa work which is bad.
      Pansin ko parang if gusto mo magtop management (CEO, CFO) important ang MBA. Also, dapat sa reputable school din.
      Altho ung iba sabi more on skills lang daw ang important which is true to a certain extent.
      For me tho, atleast sa experience ko, sometimes sufficient na ung CPA title para makaearn ng malaki kahit walang masters. Like I know people earning six digits and are in good companies na wala namang masters pero super gagaling kasi nila na CPAs.
      Ginagamit din minsan ung masters if gusto mo magtransition from one field to another (Business to IT etc.)

    6 digits w/in 3 years? Very highly improbable unless:
    1. You work abroad ( first world countries)
    2. You become an accounting manager
    #2 is very highly unlikely because you would have to have at least 10 progressive years of accounting experience.
    Trust me, walang local company mag ooffer ng six digits for junior accounting or senior accounting or even supervisorial role with only 3 years of experience.
    I've been with companies like Accenture, AXA and JP Morgan Chase in the span of 10 years. Six digits within 3 years is an impossibility for these companies.

    • @KuyaLemon
      @KuyaLemon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My friends/acquaintances did it but yes it's very difficult. Usually mga top notch students with good educational background and internships. They also don't belong to any of the companies you mentioned.
      Definitely not accounting roles but more on niche consultancy or managerial levels sa MNCs.
