Thanks. I wanted to try it. The hard part is I always do my intro first so do I talk about the stuff that then happens. It did this time and I want to think about that cause I liked adding that to give the visual. Glad you caught it and liked it.
I can really relate to the things you're talking about at 54:46 and the following minutes. Of course I am not a content creator myself, but I have family, a job and hobbies. These three things alone sometimes make it hard to balance things out and to satisfy everyone's needs: You want to share time with your family, you want to be good in your job and you want to have time for your hobbies. So you have my full understanding when you say that time is running out, because you're a content creator on top of the 3 things. Personally, I also had to cut down the time I spend on MTGA because there were times where I played too much and had not enough time with my beloved ones. I'm confident that you'll find a way on how to balance things out for yourself. Good luck and your community is with you!
You're the best man. I think you are a lot like me. I feel you also have that addictive personality where when you do something you want to do your best. Put the time to achieve that. I also am a people pleaser so take so much on in other areas. This semester is crazy busy like most of my Spring semesters so trying to do it like I had just quickly ran into wall. Each day before I knew it I had no time. Finding my new reality for the time being is hard on me but for the best long term.
54:46 is exactly my sentiments! I’m a teacher and I have kids and a wife. I also coach (esports!!!) and my kids are in sports that require practices. I understand totally. Family and friends and jobs have to come first! Best wishes to you, sir, don’t be disappointed!
And that is the unfortunate part, the norm to do a video every day@@AceMTGas it really puts us small-time content creators with full-time commitments in a tough spot to get subscribers and views. I don't want to use the term "toxic" because it isn't, but it is demanding for sure. Keep up the good work!
Hey Ace, first of, great video as always. I'm not a big burn fan, although occasionally it's fun. Your content style however, it's by far my favourite in the mtg scene. You're straight as an arrow and simply radiate fun when playing, even if the opponent makes a devastating play against you. With all the quick rage and hate around in the (virtual) world, you're a fresh breath of air. In this respect, I don't think you need to be the next CGB or Crokeys. As long as you are content with the effort you can put in your channel while maintaining a healthy balance in your personal life, you should probably see your chanel grow steadily over the next few years. I only hope that you will never be dependent on your channel for your income and it remains a beautiful side project, such that it will never be able to control your life as it does for other content creators that rely on their monitisation. So many content creators have at least one video explaining their burden of having to make content. I hope that never happens to you. The upside of making less content is that you run out of deck ideas a lot slower than other creators 😂 One of my favourite TH-cam content creators is AntsCanada, who keeps ant and tells people about it while only producing a single video each week, but at a quality that rivals filmstudios. He has over 5 million subscribers and growing, simply because his content is soo good. I feel you could do the same, i.e. growing your channel through quality content and not by sheer volume. Have a good one Ace, and like many of your followers, we'll be here whenever you drop your next video, whenever that may be.
Man what a comment to make the dayJust good stuff and much appreciated. I'm always a hard worker and always try my best so it felt like I was letting others down and failing but in the past few days I have adjusted my thinking and know the content I do make is fun for me and never about the money. I would never quit my job for content because it is my true passion. It's okay to balance the life and those who really like the content and me as a person will be there. If my love of the game ever did not show, or I get salty while playing I'd be out for sure. I'm a positive happy person and I never want that to change. Thanks for leaving a comment. Hard to put in words how much this meant.
Welcome back! Fun looking deck. I may have to try it as I used wildcards for the codebreaker & wasn't impressed in a typical mono-red shell. I'm thinking a more balanced deck would have only (2) of the pulses, as you really don't want to have it in your opening hand. As this really helps vs. control, it may replace the role Urabrask's Forge played in HOJ's mono-red deck late last year. Having that recurring threat on turns 6-10 really gives this deck legs. That way, perhaps you could add (2) shivan's to complement your tarkir's. GL with your new plan. Cheers!
Totally agree with the case. It was the card I was most curious about so wanted it as much as possible and why I had 4. Knowing it is not best to run 4. I think in a normal mono red aggro deck I'd go one just for those late game potential.
Thanks for the update Ace, and glad to hear that things are okay aside from just making some adjustments. I'm glad you were able to identify the need before it took more of a toll than it should. I can add my voice to the many who will happily continue to support and enjoy being part of the channel and community. I think three videos per week is more than enough. Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks. Yeah you always hope to catch things before it's bad and make adjustments to accommodate everyone in your life. I think the timing was good and the new schedule is working. I don't feel like I always have a deadline even if it is something I like doing.
An idea that may help, I know other content creators do this as well, is block recording. Perhaps on sunday or saturday when you arent going to a concert, you don't have extra obligations, you take a larger amount of time to record videos, do some editing, etc. Obviously you don't have to, but I think it may help with a best of both worlds scenario. I do really think you should keep going hard with this though because I fully believe over time you could be a CGB, or an Ashlizzle. I really do. All the best, do what's best for you and your family. You're an ace.
Thanks. I try but I I coach on the weekend and then that is the only time for laundry, gotta go grocery shopping, mow the lawn, meal prep, cleaning the house and all those you-hate doing them tasks lol. So in the end I will get one done Saturday and one done Sunday. I've made it work but I always knew my Spring semester was going to be hard. There will be times I can come back to more videos.
33:29 as a kki player, I say that this is obvious, you can always wedge between triggered abilities with an instant impact, unless it is written otherwise on the card, so you can squeeze a lot of benefits out of such a deck with this case
It's hard because I'm a people pleaser which is why I always take on so much. The students always want new clubs, teams, or other things and I can't say no.
I really like what you are brewing here! I'm building something very similar but bo3 to bring to a tabletop tourney. Currently testing with connecting the dots + 1/2 squee and 2 cases and building the sideboard. For the lack of minions aren't you better off with charming scoundrel for flexibility over performer?
For sure scoundrel is an overall better card but I wanted it to be as burn as possible so would want that for the extra damage even if you don't get it often. Same issue with a few cards that you changed for Squee which is the better card but not burn. I know I could have done even more burn but then it would barely win so tried to make it a lot of burn but still competitive.
I love to play ancestral anger and blazing crescendo in my mono red build for some extra card draw, and they also pump your creatures. The case looks interesting though because you can just keep refilling your hand and pumping out stuff every turn once you solve it.
I agree with those picks on mono red and think one of the case maybe two could be huge. I think in mono red aggro I will try one and you don't draw it all the time but when you do could be what takes you over on those games. That is if you don't kill them already by turn three or four lol.
The only thing that I don't agree on is the belt color for Mono-Red Aggro (not Mono-Red Burn) at 53:22. I think Mono-Red Aggro still is a black belt and that Mono-White Humans declined from black belt to brown belt after the release of MKM. The reasoning behind this is that Mono-White Humans currently suffers from a lot of bad matchups, Boros Convoke and Azorius Control in the first place. Mono-Red Aggro (the classic version) has at least a 50% winrate against both decks, whereas Mono-White Humans has a worse winrate against both decks. // Edit: Fixed some typos.
I think you are probably right on that. I'm biased cause I have been farming mono red lately but if you look at the actual stats it is still always a top five deck in BO1. Plus more games played than any other deck so even more impressive to keep the win rate.
@@AceMTG Thanks for your reply. I always like the discussions about little strategic details with you. And I just have seen that you added a new "thinking" Emoji that I asked for. Maybe I should've used that in my comment above, haha.
