I purchased the same bike 9 months ago 😍best bike I’ve ever had. It now has 1015 kms on it . Never had any issues with anything on the bike so fat . I have put in tannus tire liners and upgraded the light to 1200 lumin for riding after dark . Enjoy
That's awesome to hear. Question for you, what's the realistic expectations of the battery? They claim "60 km range" what's your experience? Obviously there's quite a few variables.
I have got as high as 50 km on the rails to trails, this is always fairly flat inclines . And this winter I have also seen as little as 27 kms one day when it was -20 c . I do thing I will ever get them 60 kms they state for I usually are in higher peddle assist 5-9 and not 1-5.
I agree ebikes the future. Wish your review was more detailed.. like shifter. Rapid fire. Why do like? What model do you have?. Enjoy the hobby! God bless 👊👊💪💪
Thank you for the great video. I would like to point out that this motor has made it's proofs as both performant and reliable and is, at 500W nominal, the highest legal in Canada. What will make a real difference going up hills is the torque. This "tank" comes with the very appealing high torque of 80 Nm (typically found more often on mid-drive mountain e-bikes) that should allow you and your gears to tackle steep hills. With respect, perhaps a quick increase of assist level while downshifting at the bottom would have done the trick? In any case, the ride looked fun. Where is this trail please?
Victoria BC. CRD Power line trails leading from Millstream and Highlands. I tested the Groove EV bike and it peaked at 1000 W and had more power going uphill than the 3.0. But I sill like the 3.0 better.
On that note, I just got a bike. What do I need to know about how to drive ie start in 1 or when to use other numbers on the motor. The shifter when to use it does it effect the motor etc?
It depends what you compare its price with. Battery cells of good quality comes with an initial higher price that will make you save much on the long run. Plus, the electrical components being plug and play, the maintenance is next to none, with a overpimped controller box of great quality. Best value ebike 2021 from EBR (Electric Bike Review), by the way. ;)
I was always afraid to ride my old bicycle on anything but asphalt surface to avoid getting a flat tire. Can I use this bicycle in the forest? Are the tires tougher than a regular bike? or is it just a chance of hitting some kind of a thorn?
I had one and recently sold it , I loved the power and torque ,but the battery was rather smallish , and the display was pretty mediocre compared to how much you pay for the bicycle
Uhhhh, weight on its side. Velocity equals acceleration times time. Acceleration is a constant called gravity minus friction and air resistance losses. Therefore, according to Newton and Galileo acceleration is independent of weight(mass). I would guess the E bikes would have more friction than a human powered mountain bike. I hope no one is stupid enough to use the electric motor going down hill.
@@jaypendock2434 just type in bafang 500s display on TH-cam it will show you how it's done but they will show you the code 1919 but for igo the code is 1818
Wow I read all comments and no one said for 2500 this bike in today's market is well over price according to the specs it offer , I can name a quick 5 bikes under 2000 that's quality and much more powerful and faster than this one. Ariel kepler , adventon, magicycle , juice , rad rover 6 . I can go on and on.

What light did you get ?
It is from Grote part # 64g01 , 10v-48v,T26 led work lamp and I run it off my Milwaukee drill batteries
Thank you for posting, the ride footage was exactly what I was hoping for. To see the roots and rocks you went over was very helpful.
That trail in spots was Kilian Bron level. Nice job pushing though 👍🚴

Is it ok to have a 2nd light person sitting on the back rack? both of us combined weight less than 250lbs
Sick vid! Do ya ever get scared you'll see a bear? I will have bear spray in a holster if I went there lol

What is the peak wattage? Is this the same motor as the 500 watt Canadian outland series?

Where do you plug the battery charger into
Do you (have to) wash / dry the bicycle after you drive it in wet snow or rainy weather?
Carefully…
Do the lights have different modes
No, they do not.
This bike compares to many others on the market today except for pricing. Typical prices for this class/quality bike is 1500-1700 USD.
The price recently went down to $1900 CAD which was a bonus.
It's $2500 CAD plus tax on their website in Canada. $1899 @ Costco right now.
@@horseheadnebula1310 Yes, better price at the warehouse itself. Worth the drive:) That is a big price gap

Majority of ebikes have puncture proof tires. Its kind of like the iPhone 12, still will get water damage just gotta not drive over nails constantly!
Does anyone know the password for the controller display? I’ve tried 1919 and 0512
1818
Unfortunately the price of a replacement battery is just under half the price of the bike. Would be nice to have a spare.
Best investment I’ve ever made. Now someone please help me gain more top speed!!!
There is a spot on the display to type the code 1818 in and it will get rid of Governor it's not a huge gain tho maybe 5km/hr

I'd get the Ariel rider xclass at this price
Igo extreme "Heavy" which will anaialate that puney battery in no time
