    Pattycake Productions is responsible for the set (and I assume costumes)! So you can thank former Voiceplay member Tony Wakim and current member Layne Stein for it! It’s their channel. They have great videos on that channel too, many Disney related.

    • @PiscesintheRain
      @PiscesintheRain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Pattycake definitely did the set and props, but the costuming is from Penguin Point Productions (they also provided costuming for VoicePlay's My Mother Told Me (you can see they used some of the same costume pieces in different combinations in this video).

    None of Geoff's songs on his own channel are a cappella. He either plays, uses instrumentation plug-ins or some combination of the two (so far, anyway). He mentioned that since he does a cappella with VoicePlay, his solo stuff allows him to experiment with different things. 😁💕
    By the by, some of the costume pieces in this video are reused from "My Mother Told Me." 😉

      @@repluggedx3265 Exactly, talent can only get you so far. I was "talented", but due to not practicing and slight abuse of my voice, it's now difficult to sing in Falsetto, I can sing higher in my Chest Voice than in my Falsetto/Head Voice. Even the most Talented has to maintain such Talent by practicing.

    I'm with you that the call-and-response he does on this is just wonderful. It's a really great way to add interest to an otherwise familiar song. I also wanted to mention something that struck me as I was watching your reaction - Geoff's humming is really just beautifully resonant. It takes skill to make that closed-mouth hum sound as full as open vocalization, and he really nails it.

    Odds are the violin was played by his friend and fellow VoicePlay member Layne Stein. Also, note, the costumes are, in part from My Mother Told Me. They often reuse props. And yeah, whoever did the makeup did a GREAT job

    Your reaction video is the best one I've seen so far. I love your breakdown of the switched A/B, which I haven't seen anyone else do, and your reactions were definitely appropriate for Geoff's level of talent. Wow, indeed. I also like how you made sure to go back and credit the costume/makeup/hair people, because yes, they were excellent. I felt Geoff's last note (held for 10 seconds!) in my sternum. I'll never forget this video, and I revisit it often. Kudos to you for fully appreciating everything that went in to the production of this stellar cover of Misty Mountains Cold.

    The Dwarf choir here are Thorin on the left, his nephew Fili, and Bofur with the epic mustache. The verses he sang were:
    Far over the Misty Mountains cold,
    To dungeons deep and caverns old,
    We must away ‘ere break of day,
    To find our long forgotten gold.
    The pines were roaring on the height,
    The wind was moaning in the night.
    The fire was red, it flaming spread;
    The trees like torches blazed with light.
    The wind was on the withered heath,
    But in the forest stirred no leaf:
    There shadows lay, be night or day,
    And dark things, silent, crept beneath.
    Farewell we call to hearth and hall!
    The wind may blow and rain may fall,
    We must away ‘ere break of day,
    Far o’er the wood and mountain tall.
    We must away, we must away,
    We ride before the break of day.

      @@elliotcoffman2643 OK looked it up. He has two records, lowest note, at an astonishing G-7, and the record for the widest range for a human, at 12 octaves wide.

      @@elliotcoffman2643 This is a link to his G-7. I recommend good headphones because this is extremely hard to hear without. And it's less hearing the note and more feeling the vibration of the note. th-cam.com/video/7qAFDzSMD54/w-d-xo.html

    I like that you review this music. That being said, interrupting 19 times in the space of 3 seconds of music could be considered by some excessive. Just saying.

    I don’t know how you could appreciate a song when you interrupted every five seconds. This is the first time I’ve heard them do this song, but I can’t enjoy it at all with so many interruptions, and so much talking over the song.

      You shouldn’t be using my content to watch their content for the first time. That isn’t how it works. The link to the original content is in the description, because the original artist deserves support. THEN, if you want to hear an analysis, you can go watch the reactions of it. Never use a reactor as a substitute for original content.

      @@officialmortiusI really enjoy watching reactions the first time I hear a song. I watch them all the time, and really enjoyed Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust which I heard for the first time recently. I think that version was much better. I will concede, I may have jumped to conclusions here. I actually only counted 14 times you talked over the song, 14 times you backed it up to replay, and only 26 actual times you stopped it. My bad.
