I just recently got a '14 elantra gt and this video makes me super happy to know that it can be upgraded. Im really trying to get into cars an learning how to work on em so i can save myself some money in the future so this just got me super excited. I am in love with those wheels!!

You could easily put a single tip on each side of this setup. I believe there is a used one still for sale from another owner. Comes with the quad tips but you could buy others to swap out.

Sounded really subtle but more throaty. Seems easy to install too. Also, have you done a dyno test with the new intake and exhaust? I've heard putting a higher flowing exhaust on a stock engine decreases hp, and I was wondering if you found that to be true?
Yonaka is a great option but is isnt visible from behind just like the stock exhaust. My JunBL is pretty deep sounding and the video I have on it does not do it justice. I feel like it has broken in more since I got it or something. An Intake and Exhaust shouldn't hurt performance but you really wont gain much or anything. The computer will adjust for the intake and who know it might hurt performance or might help but you wont know unless you try it on your own car and have a dyno before and after. I mean both the K&N and JunBL have dyno sheet from their testing but I wouldnt trust those but if you want to then each has about 6hp increase. Either way I hear my intake over my exhaust for the most part. I believe he is asking $350-400 shipped for the JunBL.

Ill have to look into the one you have. The stock exhaust on the gt is pretty bad which is a shame cuz I think the 1.8 and 2.0 actually sound really good for what they are. I got my car used last year and the dealer I got it from, gerald (since you're in Illinois you may be familiar) I have a lifetime warranty on the engine and power train and I don't want to ruin that. When it's out of warranty I think I might just go nuts. I really do like this car though, and I think with the release of the I30 N I want to make my car a little faster. What are your thoughts on Shark racing? They have an ecu reflash for this car that adds 15hp, and I figure between that, a cold air intake and a freer flowing exhaust, I could get near 200hp. Which I think would be pretty fun. Anyways, thanks again for your response! Your car looks great by the way. Very tasteful modifications, love how it doesn't look over the top.

Cool video. Would love to see one that talks about, and shows drive-ability. I have a 2014, and have been thinking about some bracing of some sort to try and clean up some of the sloppy feel. Would love to know how the feel improved for each of your bracing additions. Did you do them over time, one at a time? Which did the most? And was the daily drive ability effected much? And did you do them before or after the coil-overs? (would prefer to avoid coil-overs, want to retain some daily comfort. just want to clean up the slop a little)
daverizzio I did the tiebar first then X brace but both after coilovers. I would be curious as well if they make the stoxk suspension handle much better. I think KYB shocks and a rear sway bar seems to help a lot for the sloppy rear end. I'll be making a four year update video soon!

It made that boring car very nimble compare to the old tires he had. Im considering to upgrade my Pirelli p zero. The tires are somewhat over killed for my wife's escape i think. And the noise and fuel consumption are also higher than its original conti suv tires
@@dearbulls Its hard to recommend a tire honestly. If you want just a solid all season the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 was good this winter on my dads G70.

Ghislain Vidal Some good wheels and tires will make the car look better and if they are lighter than stock with a sticker compound they will also make the car more responsive. Great place to start IMO. Adding body parts is always great but can get expensive.

Yes and no. The engines have been part of a extended warranty/recall so they may be prone to failure. With that said, with so many having new engines it could be an opportunity to get one for a good price with a replacement engine. Outside of this and the sunroof frame is prone to cracking, it's a great first car. Fine one without a sunroof and I would say go for it for the right price. The only downside is you can't get one with the touchscreen without a sunroof since they were paired together.
Well the one I did get ahold of had a cracked trim piece. I didnt want to go to the lengths of fixing it so I sold it. There very well might be a different grille upgrade in the future though 😎.

Haven't seen you post a video about your upgraded air intake. Have you had the car re-tuned to adjust for the new air intake system? Have you done any ECU tuning?
The ECU adapts over time so no tune is needed if you install one and want the sound. Now if you want any power (if there is any to begin with) then a tune will be needed.
Yes and no. The one time use rivets works flawlessly but I wanted rivnuts installed so I could take the parts on and off and that did not work well. If doing this I recommend rivets only for the sideskirts especially.

The first number refers to winter weight hence the "w". 5w-20 is only very very slightly thinner than 5w-30 in winter temps. For cold temps 5w-20 is better due to the thinner viscosity allowing it to flow slightly better when cold. Again this difference is very small given they both have 5 as a winter weight but overall would be better in cold temps. Now for warmer temps and in general I would say 5w-30 is probably a safe oil to run for protection given its very small difference in winter and thicker protection in spring/summer/fall.

Yes fitment will be exactly the same as this car in terms of what can be installed on it. I would recommend an 18x8" wheel around +40-45 offset with a 225/40/18 tire.

hey there Justin, i do have an Elantra gt 2013 manual transmission and I was wondering if you know how to change or at least remove the shifter knob?, you see mine it supposed to have a little spring that allows the Reverse button gear change but when i bought it this did not had one (i bought it used) so I want to take the knob out and see how to replace that little string. i got a n automatic 2014 black gt with white led tailights and a yonaka exhaust, was thinking about getting a cold air intake for the car, but im skeptical from all the mixed reviews. My only issue with the car is its throttle is laggy and 1st and 2nd gear are a liitle underwhelming when trying to accelerate. what other possible mods can I do to increase hp? maybe a cat converter delete but I don't know if it makes it louder or not ( i dont want a very loud car, i like my deep exhaust hum how it is).
@@grinchy31 Technically there is but it really is cost prohibitive in my opinion. If you want an intake for sound/looks its cool but you would really need a tune with other mods to make just a small difference.
Hi what size tires do you recommend on this Elantra I have a set of icw racing wheels 17-in and right now they currently have a 215-45-r17 but I hate to ride it's super bouncy and feels like I'm riding on straight rims lol I was thinking about a 205-55 r17 or a 225 50 r17. 215 50 r 17 what do you recommend

Depends on the trim because there are a few common issues with them including the leaking sunroof and engine issues. You'll likely need to put rear KYB shocks on it right away if the rear end seems loose and twitchy.
@@yahampathmarambe8879 my 2013 gt has 160,000 on it, its a manual, only issues were 2 front wheel bearings... I do my own brakes, plugs, synth oil... engine does not use a drop of oil!
It actually looks very good, I have the same car since 2012 and I love it, I really have no reason to change it. Now... this car is a everyday grocery getter... It’s not very powerful, I’m afraid your is (or was) a little bit of a ricer

I always recommend wheels/tires and lighting first. After that it might depend but exhaust, intake, or some appearance mods are common.

This body kit will fit all 2013-2017 Elantra GT's or I30 GD generation.

Where did you get the radio antenna shark fin replacement?
It comes standard on many GT models. Any models with the Bluelink capabilities as it is a GPS antenna.
What did you do to make the Hyundai symbol the Elantra and the gt to be black on the back of the car?

@@JustinKelly Thanks...I know what you're saying , however I was saying 5W-30 is actually better in the winter (and year round) because my Elantra GT ran much better and quieter after changing to it from 5W-20 to 5W-30 in the winter!

Yes fitment will be exactly the same as this car in terms of what can be installed on it. I would recommend an 18x8" wheel around +40-45 offset with a 225/40/18 tire.

hey there Justin, i do have an Elantra gt 2013 manual transmission and I was wondering if you know how to change or at least remove the shifter knob?, you see mine it supposed to have a little spring that allows the Reverse button gear change but when i bought it this did not had one (i bought it used) so I want to take the knob out and see how to replace that little string. Help is appreciated

i got a n automatic 2014 black gt with white led tailights and a yonaka exhaust, was thinking about getting a cold air intake for the car, but im skeptical from all the mixed reviews. My only issue with the car is its throttle is laggy and 1st and 2nd gear are a liitle underwhelming when trying to accelerate. what other possible mods can I do to increase hp? maybe a cat converter delete but I don't know if it makes it louder or not ( i dont want a very loud car, i like my deep exhaust hum how it is).
i also dont know if tunes are a thing for these cars
Tune really won't do much and intakes are not much better. You can do both however. Open intakes are going to be loud so keep that in mind.

@@grinchy31 Technically there is but it really is cost prohibitive in my opinion. If you want an intake for sound/looks its cool but you would really need a tune with other mods to make just a small difference.

Hi what size tires do you recommend on this Elantra I have a set of icw racing wheels 17-in and right now they currently have a 215-45-r17 but I hate to ride it's super bouncy and feels like I'm riding on straight rims lol I was thinking about a 205-55 r17 or a 225 50 r17. 215 50 r 17 what do you recommend
Depends on the wheels width and offset. What are the full specs of those wheels?

Front grille changed in 2016. 2013-2015 were the same and 2016-2017 the same.

Hi!, I am planning to buy an Elantra GT 2013 with 85k miles on it. do you think i this move is still good?
Depends on the trim because there are a few common issues with them including the leaking sunroof and engine issues. You'll likely need to put rear KYB shocks on it right away if the rear end seems loose and twitchy.

@@yahampathmarambe8879 my 2013 gt has 160,000 on it, its a manual, only issues were 2 front wheel bearings... I do my own brakes, plugs, synth oil... engine does not use a drop of oil!

It actually looks very good, I have the same car since 2012 and I love it, I really have no reason to change it. Now... this car is a everyday grocery getter... It’s not very powerful, I’m afraid your is (or was) a little bit of a ricer

The exhaust that this car had was not custom. It was a bolt on kit from Korea.
