  • Training horses with positive reinforcement. This week we have an educational, inspiring video about positive reinforcement training. Their are many forms of training in this umbrella term. We only touch on the complicated topic of training today and show some of our chosen methods.

Brilliant mindset to have. Horses are living wonderful creatures, humans need to remember that.

I just found your videos today. I loved seeing this! I have psychology and counseling degrees (20 years ago and not actively practicing) and have been binge watching horse videos for the last year and a half to learn about their behavior and different training methods to hopefully prepare me for adopting horses in my future. This was a nice merging of my interests. I also planned to visit the Canary Islands in 2014, and had to postpone, but they're on my bucket list to visit in the future. 😊🏝🌞

Positive reinforcement is not the answer. The most spoiled, rude, and disrespectful horses on the planet are horses that are trained by old fat ladies with treats.

Hello, where the heck is this place. I can't believe that you have all these PRECIOUS animals living in that dirt-filled place. There's not even any grass anywhere for them to eat. And how often do you bathe them? These horses have been ABUSED enough, and here you bring them to this kind of place and are abusing them even more. There doesn't seem to be a CLEAN place where they can even lie down.
Hey, I get it, you and other Rescues want to help save all the animals on the planet, but how do they even get better in such an environment?
Please forgive me for being so critical but I just call it as I see it. And one more thing, how in the world can any horse, animal, and/or human stand being in POOP all day long ... MAN-O-MAN, get a CLUE !!!

Hello simplee65. Thanks for your comment. I would like to encourage you to watch more of our videos and this will answer some of your concerns.
We live on a volcanic island with limited resources, where grass does not grow freely and we all live on dirt and dust. All hay is bought in from mainland spain. The alternative for the horses abused on the island ( as we are the only horse charity) if they did not come to us would be to be left starving to death without vet care.
We can not offer perfect as our space and funds are limited, but it perfect existed there would be no need for a horse sanctuary :(
