BMW M4 CSL:
Fuel consumption weighted combined in l/100 km: 10.1-9.9 (WLTP), CO2 emissions weighted combined in g/km: 227-224 (WLTP)
Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. I can never ever be disappointed by BMW M. That just sent my heart fluttering especially seeing the M2 CSL and the what could have been. i swear i would have bought it instead of the Comp
Poor you, because i had 5 amg's and 2 BMW M, one m4 2018 comp and one bmw m8 comp, and i was disappointed by bmw, i don't know how people prefer it to amg, to be honest, there's just NO torque, NO noise, no feeling, it doesn't downshift from 2 to 1 like i want it to, the idrive is complicated for absolutely no reason and i had some issues with them, it's just a hype that bmw fanboys created but i'm going back to amg, that's where i got the most fun but you guys are just stuck to number" omg the m5 did 0-100 in 3.1 but the e63s was 3.17s it's slower the e63s blabla, but guys i really really prefer the feeling and fun that amg gives

Thats what i love about the M devision of BMW. Its always go that extra step and try to fit that bigger engine or try an all carbon roof and bonnet. Its like hold my beer and let me do it. No compromise, and not its to expensive to try. Here you have a few examples. There are many more cars they have done. They can make an extra wing with these cars in the Museum.
What they need to do is a reimagination of the original e9 csl. A singer for bmw if you will. That's a niche to be filled.

You could also argue that the M2 CS was because it had a manual option
@@7ludi yeah true but they probably would have released this with a manual option like they did the m4 gts. And I believe most of those were specced with a manual, at least most of the ones I’ve seen🤷🏾♂️

No mention about e36 csl? Yes, it was known as "lightweight" but I red several times that bmw internal code and in the owners manual it was called CSL

habe bereits den zweiten M2, aktuell den Competition, so wäre der CSL sicher sein deutluches mehr an Geld wert.

Der große Unterschied vom alten M3 CSL zum neuen M4 CSL ? Beim alten CSL stand fast nirgendwo das Label CSL drauf, war aber ganz viel drin. Beim neuen steht es gefühlt auf jedem Bauteil, aber es ist kaum CSL drin.
Der alte hatte ca. 180kg weniger Gewicht im Vergleich zum M3 SMG und ca. 110kg zum M3 Handschalter.
Der neue hat Netto betrachtet (Keramikbremsen gibt es auch für den M4 Competition) ca. 85kg eingespart. Und im vergleich zum M4 Handschalter und mit Keramikbremsen ca. 25kg.
Das ist nicht viel.
Welche Autos sind da noch unter den Abdeckungen? Da sind noch ein paar

Hier sieht man das bmw es noch drauf hat leider bin ich mir leider sicher das es einer der letzten schönen Momente sind was man schon am neuen 7er bmw sehen kann

So many CSLs (yes, very impressive) but only two that found the way to the customer over the past 20 years (yes, very strange). Unfortunately BMW missed to create another epic M car, the G29 M Roadster. There was the Z3M, Z4M and the Z8 with a lot of power. However, the G29 M40i - very good car though - is a car clearly highlighting unexploited potential. Sehr schade, BMW!
Probably there's not enough market demand for it. The previous gen already didn't have an M version.
@@NomadJedi The previous Z4 was a good joke. Porsche 718 shows that there is a market and will be...Same goes with AMG GT and R8 where BMW always pretended that "there is no market" for such a car.

AWD is too heavy for a CSL (note the L means "lightweight")

I still dont understand why BMW board wouldnt let the M2 CS be this CSL, no one buys an semi-track car by mistake, if anything they’d like the most hardcore version possible, not an M2 with adaptive suspension like the CS is /:
Propably because they'd had to make changes to the engine also, which would have been very expensive and time consuming

@@Aapee1 i dont think so, the m2 cs has 450 hp and no changes whatsoever in the engine other than torque curve for even more N/A feel, they could’ve leave it at that and just focus on weight savings and aero

Bmw have to make today de m2 f87 csl, limit production (1500-2000 units) and sale this more expensive than m2 g87, this will be a international sucess.

@@qna95B this was just a design concept not a finished car. If were produced it would've had the S55 from the CS.
@@7ludi it was due to the timing, the n55 did not meet the emission standard after 2019,
n55 is actually more lighter by 150 lbs than s55
@@qna95B They built this in 2017/2018 to show the board alongside a M2 CS concept. They just took a base M2 for it hence the N55 engine. But it was just about the vehicle concept they didn't bother to change the engine. As you said the N55 ran out soon after also wouldn't have met the power requirements anyway so a production version would of course had the S55 like the CS.
Just by looking at the new CSL you can tell, that it doesn't belong in that group, sorry, especially near the e46. For a marketing campaign, BMW should never put those together, so people can truly see the fall of BMW design
