3 to 12 really is too big of an age gap and it sounds like there are still open hours for all ages. HOWEVER notifying should have been done when people were still able to cancel. A couple of weeks is no notice whatsoever

I commented on your short, they do edge takes over oceaneer club so he’ll be able to go with friends for an hour or two and complete the experience. Which makes it fun because the older kids get the whole club to enjoy. He will love it.

We have a cruise in Feb. we are furious about the change! I’m upset because we didn’t get proper notice and it was after the cancellation period!
I love your channel! I sailed out of Galveston, TX on the Magic, so I’m not sure if it applies to the Wish.
I have 1 kid that went to the Oceaneer lab/ club & 1 child in Edge.
There was an open house every day for each age group. The Edge kids did also “invade” Vibe & the Oceaneer club & lab. They invaded a different one every day. (They moved all the young kids to one space while the older kids “invaded” the other space of the Oceaneer club or vibe.) I hope Will gets to do the same. I can’t wait to see your blogs about the new adventure!
I love how graciously you’re taking this change. Sorry the change is not what you were hoping for. As someone with little ones 4 and under, I’m really glad of this change. It means there will be somewhere where my child will feel safe playing at.
Even locally, when we go to soft plays there’s always big kids running around in the toddler area, it feels like there’s never anywhere to take preschoolers and younger children.
I’m happy now that my preschooler will feel comfortable with me leaving her at the kids club whereas before she was worried about 11+ kids running around
You may find that the ocean ear club CMs will say no to your son going in except for open house. I know your disappointed but Disney have brought this age change In for a reason maybe due to safe guarding the younger children
We just got back from a very disappointing cruise on the Wish. Our 5 year old didn’t want to stay to the Oceaners Club even if we promised to stay. There were no toys to play with, it’s all basically interactive furniture. Our 14 year old was in the goldilocks age but didn’t want anything to do with the tweens or teens club and just wanted to play basketball as much as he could. Wife and I barely got enough time to get in two coffee breaks on the whole 4 night cruise.
Oh I'm so sorry that you had that experience. We adored the Wish, as did our children, but ours are different ages to yours x
Sounds spoiled
We have done the magic staycation and 3n on the wish. Everybody gets off at Castaway as kids club moves onto the island - but if they keep a couple of people for open house on castaway day that will be super quiet 🤞
I really hope they’ll make an exception for you and he’ll be able to do the design rollercoaster more than just during the open house. I agree if you ask politely people are way more willing to help you than if you storm in there all mad and yelling!! Good luck!
We’re booked on the fantasy. It’s our 8th Disney cruise and we are sailing with friends for the first time. They have 2 girls 5 and 8. I have 2 girls 9 and just turned 11 (Dec 10). I was super upset about this change. I called dcl and explained the situation and how sudden the policy change was and they said there is absolutely no way she can go to oceaneer club. They can go up in age to a club… so a 10 yr could opt into edge but they can’t opt down.
I went on fantasy, in 2018! I was 6!❤
I think the age groups should be 3-9, 10-13 & 14-17… but I agree they should’ve given more advanced notice of the changes or give the option for a credit for the inconvenience or something
See I feel like it should be 3-11, 12-14 & 15-17 I don't think 14 yr olds should be with 17 yr olds😒
I’m going onto the wish September 23, to September 27! I’m 11, going to the edges club❤ in 2018 I went on the fantasy! Next year, 2025 I’m going on the Disney treasure❤❤❤

What about 13 year olds? That age wasn't included in that
There is nursery for under 3s, Oceaneer for 3-9, one for 10-13 and one club for 14-17
I’m grateful that you got the email. We didn’t. I found out last month because I ended up down a Disney rabbit hole and one of the websites mentioned this. Our cruise is next month. Still zero emails. We also booked this trip because our middle kid turns 13 at the end of the year. She has ADHD and just ones better with younger kids (including her two younger siblings- she and my 10 year old are joined at the hip!) and I tried to speak to anyone and they said nope. So we’re not thrilled about this, but they said that we have the option to not let her have check in and check out privileges, so we did that and made it so that her older sisters and parents can take her in and out. We’ll see. I do not think it’s going to go that well for her to be by herself in the tween club.

I can’t believe people leave their children with complete strangers in the kids clubs. We’re not comfortable with them.
