This video was very helpful, and I luv the idea of using the bottom of a water bottle to measure out and pour your resin from. I will definitely be watching more of your videos. Thanx!
well each resin comppany is different, but if you use envirotex-lite, you have to do half and half, some resin takes different measurements, just follow the instructions on the box
Wow this is great .. do you have a tutorial for making the resin pieces? I am so new to looking into resin pieces and would appreciate some information. Although I live in England I am hoping you can give links to buy all the materials. thanks
i was having trouble doming mine but i notice your resin is thick almost like honey, mine is a different brand which is almost like water, im gonna try waiting for it to get thicker and maybe it will finally work for me
I've looked everywhere online. So you use a doming resin to dome with and a different resin to cast? What resin would be good to dome with if I'm using easy cast for my resin in the mold? Thank you for your video. It was very helpful
I have been experimenting with different ways of glazing the front of a resin piece so it will be super shiny. What method do you prefer for glazing the front? Hope to hear from you, thanks.
it could still have a rough feeling to the sanded areas, and i tried for some of my peices (sanding) and usually it kinda dulls the sanded area's color. :)
What type of Mold do you use and where did you get them. Etsy, Walmart, Walgreen, Kmart, BJ, EBay, Stop & Shop, Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Art Supplies Store, Price Choppers, Ice Store Shop, Iggy Store West Boulevard? Those or all the Craft store oh Joann Fabrics, Michaels? So let me know witch you got it from thank you.
it takes about 2 days for most resin to completely cure. Read the instructions for your resin,so you can see how many days you need to wait so it can completely cure. Also too much moisture in the atmosphere might effect the curing process as well
there is no such thing as self leveling resin, the effect is called surface tension! often clear epoxyd or acrylic resin is sold under fantasy brand names for high prices.
i want to make some charms put a hook in it to put them on bracelets to make a charm bracelet for my bridemaids do you put in after the resin is harden
Any tips for doming pieces that don't lay flat or have rounded bottoms? I keep having overflow issues even when I just add a little at a time. :/ Thank you!
Thank you for your video. I love the colors. What type of die did you use to give them those brilliant colors? I used acrylic paint to give it a color but my resin never dried completely? Does the die have to be powder or please let me know how to add color to my resin. Thank you.
+private91205 yea using acrylic paint will add to much water to your resin and cause it not to cure, you should try glitter or pigment powders or even alcohol dyes, these all work really well in resin
seven years late, but you get a small drill and drill a hole into wherever you desire to put the eyepin in. then you screw the eyepin in said spot and bam. you can get a cheap drill on amazon for $5 :))
I was wondering, how do you attach the little hooks into your resin pieces if they're in molds? I know it's probably a stupid question, but I've just wondered...
if you let the resin cure for about 8-10 hrs, or until it's solid enough to remove from the mold, then you should be able to take an eyepin and cut the end of it to a point and press it into the resin. It will still be soft enough to do this and after the second day of curing it will be completely hardened and the eyepin stuck in place. I hope that made sense lol.
Oh Iggy store west Boulevard is a very country style they have all the arts and crafts that you can think of and some that you have not even heard of. They have the day show there's car shows favorite shows there are the top of the line that better than Michaels and Joanns fabrics. And it's funny cuz they're right next to BJ's in the new stop and shop near Walmart. They had loaded projects I would never do they have a lot especially when its not follow that I'm fall items out there I literally just want to bring some home but I know its not falling look very fun and bring in some fall leaves and pumpkins and stuff but they got a nice variety some of the stuff its a call out of the stuff is real I feel like I'm in the supermarket every time I go there is always food around.
A couple of vids that show diff ways you can do it are: How to add Eye Pins to Resin Pieces by FrostMintCreations (this one by FrostMintCreations is the one i was referring to about pressing the pin in after curing for about 8+hrs) How to Embed an Eye Pin Bail Into a Resin Mold by Beadaholique
XTina R i am using envirotex- lite but I've recently started using craft resin it doesn't yellow over time, you can find them on instagram under ART_RESIN
+Mstrinity143 Awesome, thanks! I actually went out shopping at Michaels this morning and that's the same one I ended up with! (Thank goodness for those 40% off coupons! This stuff is priiccceeeyy!) Getting everything prepped now so I can start playing with it! Can't wait! :)
hi, i just saw your video and i have a doubt, have you had problems with sticky pieces?? I have that problem, i hope u can tell about it. thanks for the video.
I had that problem and found that I had not been mixing it properly as well as I didn't stir it long enough. You're supposed to mix equal parts and stir it for 2-3 minutes (mixing time may be different for different resin) and I was not stirring long enough and my parts weren't equal when pouring them together to mix. Trial and error. I was a newbie.
I've never seen any at the michael's store nearest me (Next city over) .. and the people that worked there told me they didn't carry it... :( I've been trying to find a place to order it online..

hi. great tut. wanted to know what you do with these large pieces
I have been experimenting with different ways of glazing the front of a resin piece so it will be super shiny. What method do you prefer for glazing the front? Hope to hear from you, thanks.
Would it be better to pour out more resin than you need (cause sometimes you just dont very know) or have less so you dont waste it?
Do you let your pieces totally harden before doing this doming ?
less so you dont waiste it resin is quite expensive, and you can always mix more if you dont have enough
those pieces are beautiful,
Well, aside from the self-leveling thing, this was actually really helpful thank you. :)
Great tips! Thank you so much for sharing!
resin looks fun need to try them out
hi! What size are the larger rectangles and what mold did you use for them? Thanks!!
it could still have a rough feeling to the sanded areas, and i tried for some of my peices (sanding) and usually it kinda dulls the sanded area's color. :)

Just leave the stick in the cup and then you have a handle to pull the hard resin out of the cup with and you don't loose the stick!! hehe
Wow i like this....
Do you have to use a mask when you make it?
.
what if the resin piece dose not have any edjes like urs
I try to dome it but it won't cure,I left it for 2 or at least 3 days but its drill sticky
you probably didnt mix the resin well. or use equal amounts it happens al the time
Where can you find resin?
why is it really bad if you get the resin on your hands or table?
