A totally amazing castle build and there’s a village to come 😍. I love all the details you’ve incorporated with each one having a story behind it. I hope you will be able to display both sides of this at the show, maybe at angle or something? 😀
@simonmoss101 thanks, I had so much fun putting in all the little details in the castle rooms! The castle will actually be sideways, and so I have requested an end of the table so guests can walk around and see the interior 🤞 hopefully I am able to get one! 💕🇨🇦
@@MBBricks …..yes agreed. I have a fairly large Lego city, several trains, a port with a lot of ships and boats, a residential area, and also a nice medieval area with a good sized castle (not as big as yours), and also a village with several buildings. It has been my retirement project for the last 7 years. It has certainly given me a great deal of enjoyment. Worth every penny. 👍🇨🇦
I love the name and how it has all come together. Will be at BITS so will love to come over and see it up close. Can’t wait to see what else you have planned.
@mahatmagamgee1831 haha that's awesome! I am not familiar with that but I should probably check it out since it has such cool music 😉 Thanks for watching! 💕🇨🇦
@ABrickDreamer thanks so much!! 😍🙌 I requested the end of a table so people can see the front and then walk around to see the back portion of the castle. (Once the village is added on, the castle will be turned sideways) 💕🇨🇦
Really fantastic build, do you by ANY chance know how many masonry bricks and 1x1/1x2 plates you've used in this? I'm trying to gauge how many pieces are required for certain sized walls and details etc. because I'm currently building out a pretty large brick link wanted list to put together all the pieces I need to up my measly 20K pcs inventory for more MOC possibilities. Thanks in advance!
@tristan7122 thanks so much! I definitely under estimated how many pieces it takes to do this kind of detail at this scale. My last order had 1K 1x2 plates in the light grey which built the 3rd floor. Then of course I had some dark grey and medium nouget as well (a bit less of those accent colours) so I could imagine at least 5-6 thousand 1x2 plates total for the castle and gatehouse. The 1x1 I didn't use as much, as I preferred the 1x1 round plates. Those I probably used a similar amount. The masonry bricks I'm not entirely sure as I didn't need to order any but I would guess at around 3-4 thousand of those (luckily I grabbed those off a PAB wall previously!) I'm guessing this entire castle in itself is about 50,000 pieces! I hope this helps and good luck with your build!! 💕🇨🇦
@bugmn99 hahaha thank you! I have been building for many years so lots of practice really helps! This project has a deadline for completion for a convention next month so I am working over time to get it finished in time. Currently I am trying to put in at least 2-3 hours per day working on it 😍🙌 weekends I can sometimes get a few extra hours as well! 💕🇨🇦
Builds at this scale always feel like they lose their Lego charm. It looks somewhat impressive but the bigger something gets in scale the more empty space is created. You find yourself looking at so much grey. I don't think the increase in cost of building at this scale is matched by an increase in aesthetic value actually the opposite. Furthermore i find fun in the challenge of building in tons of details whilst operating at 'regular' lego scale. Final note im not a fan of this wall technique everybody seems to use, its price inefficient and far too busy looking. I find a more subtle abstraction of brickwork enjoyable...restrained moderation can be better than throwing every brick possible at something. All that said i kind like it but not as much as many much smaller and cheaper castle designs ive seen. 😅
@micabryant4513 totally cool that you aren't a fan of the build. Everyone has a different opinion on what they like to see/build which is a great thing about LEGO. I personally love the look of the wall, and it's all about artistic perspective 👍 I've always wanted to be able to build a big minifig scale castle so I'm definitely living my childhood dream now. Luckily, there are all sorts of fun builds to see that are more suited to what you're interested in! 🙌
