As said by the original creator, the punisher is a representation of the failure of law enforcement and the justice system. Was failed by everyone to the point it broke him and saw it fit to do the work on his own in his own twisted idea of justice.
he was everyone in one guy, the best written character in most of nowadays TV shows, be was the best operator, knew how to love, knew how to be a great friend, he knew how to be loyal, and so on and sooo

Jon Bernthal was born for this role. His angry loud voice for the Punisher is so mesmerizing and befitting of his character.
