Also of note, the "Undertow" album and the previous EP "Opiate" were the other bassist, Paul. Justin moved in during the production of "Ænima". They are both excellent but you can probably tell the bass stylings got a bit crazier.
ONE OF US! This was my first exposure to Tool. This CD was given to me. I had heard Sober but this album is my favorite for its grit and power Thank you!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions totally missed your gesture when it tickled ya lol so funny! It stood out to me too back in the day Reminded me of the Cable company employees in South Park This was my favorite song from the CD forever and it was rarely played live after Lateralus. They recently started sprinkling it in from my understanding. But when you pop this CD in, it’s the first song. Glad you “started” the journey here as you stated. Thanks again for bringing it!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Only the sorts of people that have a tiny attention span and like all-hooks stupid 3 minute jingles and don't know how to appreciate real music by listening to it 10 times. Same as those that don't understand art and like comic strips.
@MusicForTheSoulReactions 💯! "Shit the bed" is an integral part of "Rosetta Stoned," A 3-part journey. W/out spoilers... Lipan Conjuring (getting high), Lost Keys/Hoffman (being high), Rosetta Stoned (main song, coming down, telling the story). It's a masterpiece and it's A LOT to take in. Don't listen until you know you're ready!😆
There's something that could be said about going from beginning to end, because most of us did it that way 😅 But I don't see anything wrong with jumping around. Just listen to the comments about what song to do next & just have fun. That's the only way to do it. ✌️ Thanks for doing these!
I don't know a lot of Tool, I don't know why, this was real good. But, and you know I always have to say something, I'm a Porcupine Tree guy. You need to check out "Shallow". I put that up against a Tool song. IMO, Porcupine Tree has more facets to them, more light and shade. Shallow is a good example. Also, Christmas is just around the corner. Hope Santa didn't toss my wish list...US Roadie 1 signing off...
Dude when youre wrangling cats into a bag.... Dont get into the bag w them..glad u r feeling better.. maybe hit up Lou Rawls .. You'll Never Find... Gladys Knight...Youre the best Thing..Or America... Ventura Highway.. something to unfrazzle yourself.. Ah screw it that ain't gonna happen .. Southbound Pachyderm..(live version only) Claypool Lennon Delirium... sonically and visually next level .
The lead guitar and bass playing an octave (8 notes) apart and playin together so can be hard to know which is which bass can climb the chromatic scales like the lead does , tool completely reawakened my interest in new music , not for the first time lateralus you have to , they a lot louder live couldn’t hear for 2 days after I saw them .
This song has ties to the US Military academies. If you look at the Honor Code for West Point academy it is: A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do
For your next new please do Ren Hi Ren. It is newer but it makes a great reaction video.
@@johncombs2798 I'll pin it to the top of the comments to remind me 🙂

Haha, glad I'm not the only one who didn't have a clue what type of guitar that was, but as you say, who cares, it still kicked ass!

Having the lyrics handy would be a good idea, as they come on hard and fast. Enjoy, ha ha ha. It's a mind bender 😅🖖

Great suggestion
It's called chugging when they do that all together. You'll hear it on and off in their songs.
Keep going

Sober! I prefer live version but you can't go wrong with the official video either, but you end up watching video and get distracted from the music.

@MusicForTheSoulReactions Would you be surprised if Maynard actually wrote that because his first wife sh!t the bed?
Jerk Off from their Opiate EP (which came out before this) would get you going too.
