Jules your hair is giving everything and some… . ❤
Am thinking the same, like wow❤
Aaah this networking shenanigans and mentorship things are a nightmare. I just want to show up for work and just go home abeg 😢..it’s so sad that cooperate has glorified extrovertness and if you’re not that you’re left behind. 🤬
I feel like mentorship and networking are corporate speak for gatekeeping. Some people just like to do the work and go home. Socialization is not for everyone and we are making fish climb trees and it's stiffling. Jane and Judith should think about being leaders who recognize this change mindsets. You'll see how people will have a spank when showing up at work without being expected to be seen
This!!! A great leader recognizes the strength of a diverse team. Diversity also applies in people’s personalities, business chemistry, strengths and so on. Imagine measuring everyone’s contribution based on one yardstick. This mentality makes workplaces breeding grounds for a lot of inauthenticity and a lot of big and empty talk.
Absolutely hate it. Those of us who like to keep our heads down and run with it are overlooked and assumed to be poor performers. In fact the louder you are at work, the more disposable you're likely to be, if only the powers that be looked closely. I just want to be allowed to emit Francesca Bridgerton energy without stress.
I think the issue is we don't have person-centred mentorship and networking - tailored to the specific employee. Most mentorship and networking opportunities are created to build competition. I had a former boss who mentored me but she allowed me to suggest ways I needed mentorship rather than her taking the lead. I remember the first thing she told me is "I am not trying to make you an extrovert or push you to be like others in the team so you can get higher positions". She allowed me to express where I needed support without the pressure of feeling like if I didn't take her advice, I would never climb the ladder. I honestly appreciated that kind of mentorship and now I try to use the same for other people
Thank you for saying this. I just want to work. If i have a question i will ask, but i have never needed a mentor at work.
Thank you for saying this
What a conversation with Our Director Consumer Banking, Jane Jelagat.
Things you wish you knew at 24.
Watching this episode as a 24y/o Gen Z
I am in the right place 😅
Jane is too fresh!! 😂😂😂
I love, love her personality
Starting a petition to get production to increase the time... And Jane, should definitely come back, maybe next time with Dez and Charles, their wisdom is next level. The show was lovely as always
😂😂
I normally listen on Spotify but I had to run to TH-cam when Jane said “and the way I have fine legs”. Iconic line that will live with me forever 😂
😂😂😂 please
Giirll 😂
Thank you so so much Jules for digging deeper into the networking conversation because all u see on social media is successful pple saying ur “network is your net worth” yet no one tells u how to do that especially in ur 20’s
I feel like people ask what you do ,then label you . Or consciously decide if they want to network with you or not.I work in fuel industry behind the scenes and when I tell people I sell fuel they assume I work in a petrol station, fuelling stations
I love the guests today.
Jane sounds like she would have made a great architect. A lover of arts and a creative who excels in sciences too
Also we need a whole segment on surviving the ghetto that is “corporate careers”…starting with these ladies please…they just scratched the surface.
Is any body else seeing that “Jane would make very good friends with Ciru Muriuki”?😅
They have a lot in common esp sense of humour❤
I swearrr... I thought i was alone .. imagine Jane & Ciru 😂
Hahah really?
I can only imagine how lit the episode would be with the two as guests...
Can they please come back and touch more on work-life balance, especially motherhood
Sounds like a good idea
Yep...we are here for it. Go East Africa!!! Mob love from UG!!!
I loved Judies advice on working hard when you are young, full of energy and have the time. That is definitely what I would tell my younger self too! Now I am older and have less energy and a ton of responsibility outside of work. Do it afraid and do a a super job so that people speak about you in rooms you are not! Loved loved that!
We want part two! We want part two!!
We're thrilled to hear how much you connected with our CCO's advice. Her words truly resonate with the importance of making the most of our younger years. We hear you loud and clear about wanting Part 2.
I'm like 5mins in and Jane has me on the floor. I know this episode will be fireworks.
Jane is hilarious 😂😂
Very well articulated gems. We need a whole episode on women and money. Judy- super poised, Jane-so witty, both so wise.
This should have a PART ll

Lovely to see Jane Jelagat! Definitely a corporate leader seasoned and professional. I learnt so much from her!
This was way too short. What a lovely conversation, your guests are phenomenal.
This conversation is so timely because, as a corporate girlie, I've been working to expand my mentors. The lessons are good.

I’m not even 20 mins into the video and I love the conversation. I also love the guests and Jules hair ❤ is goals. Such healthy long hair
Thank you, ladies, for this wonderful conversation. The corporate world can often be seen as toxic, so it's refreshing to witness women excelling in that environment. Jane is particularly insightful, and I could listen to her all day. I hope to hear more from her, especially on leadership, because let's face it, there's no manual for it. Huge thanks to Jules and Sharon for organizing this fantastic episode.❤

This was really good. I wish there was a part 2
I agree with you I was mentored by a white man. I carry with me everything he taught me. The confidence he instilled in me is out of this world. He believed in me and was such great motivation to me. Will forever be grateful to him.
Shout out from South Africa

Aiii Julia mbona hamkukucordinate outffffffiiittsss😢
The ladies should come back.
Quick question, ladies. Y'all look amazing, btw. Jules, the hair😍, Sharon, those shoes🤩 legs are legging. The guests are dropping gems & we all appreciate the platform you've created. Now on to my question🚶♀️➡️
Is the Fingo app Diaspora friendly? I've read some reviews that are making me a bit skeptical, but I'm willing to learn more.
Hmmmm...my reaction to the 'race card'.., having worked in a multi-cultural facet, I would definitely want a part 2
Judy Bogonko.. nice to see you hommie😊😀
That's our CCO 😊
Heeeeey 🙂
Men need to normalize talking, even in Scripture, the great men in the Bible did show emotion, and community. Like David and Jonathan...A man who relies on Christ, and the Father ❤ and good friends as well ❤ are major green flags
Jules is soo beautiful
If you see someone from afar and identify them as a potential mentor, how do you go ahead and make the first step
this one is a miss sorry 🙁
Thank you ladies for this beautiful and enriching conversation😊
