    I bred two dogs that I had due to demand for the breed. Approximately 14 years ago, I bred my MinPin, Roxy and she had 4 male pups. I am an RN so my medical knowledge gave me confidence to do so. She delivered all of them without my help, and did eat all the placentas, which I really didn't want her to. As it turned out she had very bad diarrhea for a few days, and needed IV intervention. I also had to hand feed them till her milk was more productive. In the end all was well and the pups went to loving homes. Now, I have a 6 year old Toy Apricot Poodle, and decided to breed her as well. Her 1st litter was only one female pup. I sold that dog and my BF was mad because he wanted to keep her, so I bred my Mimi again and she had 2 males and 2 females. I never had to pull the pups out with either whelping, as my Moms did well themselves. Mimi ate 3 of the placentas as I was able to sneak one away. She did perfect as well as the puppies, and they all except one went to great homes, and yes we kept a female we named Gigi. Both my girls are fixed now, as I didn't intend to be a professional breeder. Your dogs are beautiful!

    I would be in Heaven if one of those parti boys were coming home with me someday!! Or any one of the baby boys!! I loved Dave’s orange collar male! That’s the temperament and personality I would want to find!! A big baby that wants all of Mommy’s attention!! ❤️

    I’ve learned some much with you! I just had a liter of 10 for the first time. My Lilly is doing as expected for a first timer but it’s definitely exhausting and not as easy as you make it look. I love the transparency but this is definitely hard. Mind you have have 6 kids and once 4 dogs in our home (now all grown) so I know how to handle overwhelming moments as a mama but gesh I can’t sleep every 2-3 hours feeding, help stimulating puppies, cleaning, weighing, cleaning, feeding, pics, replying to post, text, etc and doing research. This wasn’t a plan liter just let. She was supposed to wait until next year 😂 they had other plans. 😊the night of my dogs wedding she gave birth to the first puppy. Lilly had 10 goldendoodles. We’re so proud of her. All healthy and happy developing pups

      its def exhausting but sounds like you did a fantastic job on your end! breeding isnt for everyone, because most will be pretty sleep deprived in the beginning, some on the middle and later before they leave. its a rewarding job though, in the end!

    Dr. Billie to help!!!

    What are you doing with the scissors and cords? It's hard to tell from the video. Don't the moms usually break the sac, clean them off, and take care of the rest? Or are you just being helpful?

    • @SilverCreekGoldendoodles
      @SilverCreekGoldendoodles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      mom can probably do this on her own, but i like to assist her and do what i can for the pups to get breathing... then hand them off to her.
      mom can pull the umbilical cord too hard, causing hernias... or i worry about them getting them too short and making it harder to stop bleeding, so i just like to help. this isnt for all breeders, but definitely the way i do things here.

  • @marierakitsky171
    @marierakitsky171 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you ever had a mother do nothing to help on delivering the puppies. Years ago I had a poodle and she didn’t do anything. I had to break the sacks and cut all the cords. She ate only one of the placentas. Once they were born she was a good mother. Her first and only litter.
    You have beautiful puppies and good mothers.

    • @SilverCreekGoldendoodles
      @SilverCreekGoldendoodles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have had this a time or two, and it was aggravating because she didnt even want to push.. which was making it scary and dangerous for the puppies. thankfully, i know how to 'feather' and MADE her have contractions that way- to move the puppies down. it was her retirement litter and even if not, im not sure i would had bred her again.
      i do like to break the sacks and cut the cords so it lessens the chance of having umbilical hernias... (mom pulling on the cord) and i want to get the puppy out of the liquid and breathing before i hand it over to mom 😂

    Thank you for sharing! Do you only suction pups as needed?

    Are they mini doodles how big do they get

  • @marierakitsky171
    @marierakitsky171 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you ever have to suction the puppies if they can’t get all the mucus out or just lower their head?

    • @SilverCreekGoldendoodles
      @SilverCreekGoldendoodles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      only if puppies seem congested or weak, but didnt have to in this litter. the suction is always on standby, but thankfully i just tilt them downwards some and keep cleaning the mouth area and airway... (nose too) as im stimulating their body while im drying them off. 😊

    What do you give a mom after all puppies are born to keep them from getting loose stools from the after birth? Just wondering since if our moms eat them all they get really runny

    • @SilverCreekGoldendoodles
      @SilverCreekGoldendoodles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sweet potatoes are a must. microwave for 5 minutes, then give in between meals. also, plain yogurt, 'firm-up pumpkin' , and gastro-plus from www.pawtree.com/silvercreekdoodles

    • @barbaragildersleeve4309
      @barbaragildersleeve4309 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SilverCreekGoldendoodles thanks so much. My standard Goldendoodle had 5 puppies and ate all the afterbirths. I have been giving her plain pumpkin purée, and RX biotics and that normally helps my other two females another standard and a mini goldendoodle. Thanks so much as I have never tried sweet potato. I think you said you use the mask eye extenders on Amazon. I just ordered them as the Velcro are horrible and they are to small for the breakaway collars. With 4 parti boys need to be able to color code them. I love that you help others

    • @barbaragildersleeve4309
      @barbaragildersleeve4309 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sweet potato along with the probiotics are helping a lot now and she is almost back to normal. The yogurt kind of made it worse. I gave yogurt to our AKC collies when we were breeding them back in the 90’s.

    Where are you located and how much for your Golden Doodles, or any, for that matter. I am in Illinois'd and have a 6 year old English Cream Golden who would love a little one to look after. Thanks!
