Fun fact : in top-tier you can immediately spawn in a rocket heli, and from the points you earn get in a plane, wich essentially means you can play ground RB without getting in a tank
this can be done in any helicopter, it is harder to do for nations like Italy and Japan, who get shit helicopters until top tier (of course, thats not saying much, Italy only has 3).
Although rocket helis at that tier is effectively suicide, You have to get up close and personal with the enemy, and even your approach is just a big risk, no matter which side you come from. You're actually better off being a tank than a rocket heli in that regard lol
@@aiedenoldstien9751 idk which aa gun you use, but 99% of the time I use an aa gun (I'm a German/Italian main) I end up with 3 to 4 plane kills with little to no effort (mainly cos US and russian cas players are braindead). The wirbelwind 1 taps most planes (if I'm using the correct belt) and even if I'm using the ap belt, the rate of fire is soo good that the plane just gets vaporised. Same with the r3t20. Most ppl play that as an anti tank but it's sooo good against planes. Its muzzle velocity and rate of fire shreds planes. Going a bit higher in tier, both the weasel and kugel 1 shot planes (if im using the aa belt) If couse you won't 1 shot a plane if you are using the ap belts
There should at least be a cap on the amount of planes spawned in at a time. Too many times i see a team lose because 5 of their remaining 6 are in the air.
He was downed by another aircraft so as much of an point as you think that is it isn’t; the best anti air you can do at lower BR’s is just be in an aircraft yourself which at that point you’re just playing air RB and not ground RB
@@TheBananamonger they really do not have unlimited fuel, it's just that they can land to rearm, repair and refill lol. And also most of CAS planes can stay up in the air WAYY longer than the duration of a ground RB match (fr, Planes can fly for hours in this game)
There legitimately just needs to be a limit on how many planes can be up per team at one time. CAS is only ever a problem when it's spammed. Other than that there are a select few vehicles that are actually problematic and they're believe it or not, Russian. Who would've thought.
@@marsdriver2501the solution isn't lowering the fighter cost. It's increasing the CAS cost. It's ridiculously cheap rn to spawn. My idea would be 600 sp for all fighters and 800 sp for all CAS, and ground belts and ordenance adds an additional cost to the sp value. Specially if it has alot of bombs

So in that matter CAS comes to balance, since just a few good players vs a team full of average ones can result in the experienced ones crushing the enemy withing the first 5 minutes of the match

The fact is : SPAA around this BR range is just next to useless, like yeah sometimes you down 3/4 planes with your 4x.50 cal truck, but most of the times, you're swarmed and gun runned before even managing a plane kill. And let's not talk about nations using 40 mm bofors as their main AAA gun, like sweden : it is SO pleasant to hit a plane's wing with 40 mm semi ap incendiary rounds and not doing more than "hit" ...

This reminds me how much slower and less plane-filled early tank realistic battles were. If you died in your first tank without scoring any points, you were done for the game. Capping a point gave you enough points for spawning just another tank. Then getting to spawn a plane took more work.

This video is cherry-picked, Cas is not that easy in game, the average player won't be getting 2-3 kills per death and if you spawn a fighter without bombs it will completely render a plane with bombs useless
@@SHEEPS_123As CAS though you can easily get 1-3 kills depending on how many bombs you have. Even if enemy planes are up there is enough time to get 1 free easy kill. Literally all you have to do is dive on someone and click space. Planes with AP belts are also good for harassing lighter vehicles.

Historically my go-to, before I developed a conscience, was the Typhoon Mk.Ib. It's *comically* OP for CAS and doubles as a ridiculously strong dogfighter.
One possible fix for that crit at the end is that the moment someone gets into a plane, some AI aircraft spawn as well and head to the battle space. This has a few effects: 1. It gives CAS players something to think about when making an attack run 2. It gives those who haven't gotten AG ordinance for their planes yet something they can kill and earn exp towards the AG weapons and 3. Gives food for the AAA players Speaking of AAA, a fix for them could come in the form of giving them lead calculations even in realistic. Planes are hard enough to hit as is, making life just a little easier for the AAA guys would go a ways. But I do agree that something should be done to make CAS both more challenging and more rewarding to earn
Top tier CAS is great. I had multiple dudes just 1st spawn helicopter with spam rockets. Then they either flew back and re-armed with guided weapons or straight up spawned in a new chopper, with said guided missiles. After they died in this, they spawn in a jet. Playing ground RB without spawning once in a ground vehicle
I once noticed an enemy concept 3 without any kills or assists spawn a plane coz of the scout ability I guess, and managed to get 3-5 kills with planes, truly a great experience
any enemy you scout, that gets killed, gives you an assist as if you had damaged them. AND lowers the spawn cost of all your planes by like 50sp each time. most tanks with scouting, already cost basically nothing, especially in an uptier. so you can reasonably get a plane by scouting like two-three enemies so long as they both are killed while the scout is active, without you ever firing a shot.

yeah, the average cas player is too dumb to pick specific targets. yesterday I was farming intelligence awards in a pt-76 and in 3 separate games I got killed by US aircraft dropping 1000lb bombs on me when they could have just as easily killed me with machine gun fire and saved their payload for something useful.
The ppl saying he should "try" CAS and hope to make fun of his average air skills are missing the point, CAS is braindead easy. As long as you can hit space and pull up, you will be able to kill someone with minimal counterplay available to the tanker.

yeah this. it can be very hard to actually find targets sometimes, not too bad in prop planes, but as soon as you get to jets it's nearly impossible to spot targets and stay alive.

I think calling it CAS is lending it too much dignity. It's not support. It's farming ground kills against players, often to the detriment of your own team (especially when some doofus in a Pe-8 decides he's going to Do The Funny).
4:20 yep, that's the 30mm MK 108. hard to use, incredibly sparky, but will kill almost anything that isn't a large bomber with 1-2 hits, depending on if those rounds actually do damage and don't spark.
Normally I get miffed at how good you are at ground, but I don't think anyone can say you're bad at CAS nailing those canon shots. Those can be fucking hard sometimes. 👍
I like the idea of planes in realistic or just add a no plane mode for people who don’t wanna deal with it is an easy thing to fix reduce how much scouting makes planes cheaper and increase the SP needed to spawn one as a heavy tank enjoyer I remember the days you could get in a plane by just eating shells
People always like to point out that the population isn’t large enough to support another mode where it is only ground vehicles. However, steamcharts currently says there is 58k players playing right now, and the in game population normally hovers closer to 70-100k players. So I don’t see why we can’t have a ground only mode
@sethkappaccilli9509 that'd be something, but I've had dogfights before but mostly they end with me getting nuked by cas before the fun even begins. It has to be all or nothing, and I'd prefer nothing in this case.
@Ballistics_Computer plains need to be balanced, they are important to the flow of the match but they shouldn't be getting most of the kills. Bombs need to be way more limited or have a lower skill floor somehow.
@sethkappaccilli9509 I honestly don't think they're important to the match at all, most often they feel more like a stage hazard than a well integrated gameplay element.
My favorite way to play is the floor is lava. Heli rush (or use ballistic computer from range), get enough points for an attacker, then get enough points for a fighter. Ground vehicle is either AA or a light vehicle.
I agree cas can be very annoying and needs to be balanced, but I wouldn’t want to play a warthunder that didn’t have planes flying around. I think a game mode that somehow combined both air and ground battles with the larger sim maps would be awesome. It could focus fighters around the tanks allowing the fighter to get kills on incoming cas, giving a incentive to protect the tanks. While making cas more difficult. It could maybe encourage friendly cas to fly together and fighters to cover said cas. Idk maybe I’m crazy, great video!
I do like the depth CAS gives the game, but my lord they need to cost more to spawn, and remove scouting bonus. Vehicles with ground belts or bombs need to cost way more than regular fighters. CAS should be treated like a killstreak, not just another vehicle.
@spookston, the issue with aircraft in ground rb is that with mouse there is zero wobble after making a correction in flight to line up the target. Only mouse gets this advantage and if mouse had the same wobble as all other control peripherals, it would overnight change the skill needed to kill tanks with aircraft guns. Even dive bombing would take more skill to use.
Not even the abusive economy made me quit the game, it was CAS. Being killed by a player that you can't counter in any way is by far the most frustrating part of the game
Idk if anyone mentioned this but at 5:46, less fuel means more likely to have a fire, the gas and fumes are what ignite not the liquid itself so if you have more fuel less likely to burn but if theres less fuel and more air and vapor in it burns even more. Your liquid fuel leaked all out but the fumes remained burning up your plane
@@RDEnduro yes, the game even tells you as much (cant remember if it was in one of the tutorials, or just a loading screen tip), you dont have to actually physically model vapor, just that more empty tank = easier fire

Playing Anti-CAS/Air superiority fighter is the most enjoyable thing you can do while playing Ground RB.

I once noticed an enemy concept 3 without any kills or assists spawn a plane coz of the scout ability I guess, and managed to get 3-5 kills with planes, truly a great experience
any enemy you scout, that gets killed, gives you an assist as if you had damaged them. AND lowers the spawn cost of all your planes by like 50sp each time. most tanks with scouting, already cost basically nothing, especially in an uptier. so you can reasonably get a plane by scouting like two-three enemies so long as they both are killed while the scout is active, without you ever firing a shot.

yeah, the average cas player is too dumb to pick specific targets. yesterday I was farming intelligence awards in a pt-76 and in 3 separate games I got killed by US aircraft dropping 1000lb bombs on me when they could have just as easily killed me with machine gun fire and saved their payload for something useful.

So it is pretty easy compared to most tankers that not only have to worry about other tanks, but also big fat bombs from the area the gun can't elevate enough
The best CAS planes for me are the F6F and the 109 series. You can do both cas and defend your teammates in the air with those two planes.

I honestly think the biggest part of revenge CASing is you know where they are and so it is easier to find them from the air
yeah this. it can be very hard to actually find targets sometimes, not too bad in prop planes, but as soon as you get to jets it's nearly impossible to spot targets and stay alive.

I think calling it CAS is lending it too much dignity. It's not support. It's farming ground kills against players, often to the detriment of your own team (especially when some doofus in a Pe-8 decides he's going to Do The Funny).
You should play the Type 74 (any of them) attempt #3.

4:20 yep, that's the 30mm MK 108. hard to use, incredibly sparky, but will kill almost anything that isn't a large bomber with 1-2 hits, depending on if those rounds actually do damage and don't spark.

I like the idea of planes in realistic or just add a no plane mode for people who don’t wanna deal with it is an easy thing to fix reduce how much scouting makes planes cheaper and increase the SP needed to spawn one as a heavy tank enjoyer I remember the days you could get in a plane by just eating shells
People always like to point out that the population isn’t large enough to support another mode where it is only ground vehicles.
However, steamcharts currently says there is 58k players playing right now, and the in game population normally hovers closer to 70-100k players. So I don’t see why we can’t have a ground only mode

@sethkappaccilli9509 that'd be something, but I've had dogfights before but mostly they end with me getting nuked by cas before the fun even begins. It has to be all or nothing, and I'd prefer nothing in this case.
@Ballistics_Computer plains need to be balanced, they are important to the flow of the match but they shouldn't be getting most of the kills. Bombs need to be way more limited or have a lower skill floor somehow.

I think that cas almost does entirely consist of spamming space unless you're me and use planes to kill planes
My favorite way to play is the floor is lava. Heli rush (or use ballistic computer from range), get enough points for an attacker, then get enough points for a fighter. Ground vehicle is either AA or a light vehicle.
I agree cas can be very annoying and needs to be balanced, but I wouldn’t want to play a warthunder that didn’t have planes flying around. I think a game mode that somehow combined both air and ground battles with the larger sim maps would be awesome. It could focus fighters around the tanks allowing the fighter to get kills on incoming cas, giving a incentive to protect the tanks. While making cas more difficult. It could maybe encourage friendly cas to fly together and fighters to cover said cas. Idk maybe I’m crazy, great video!

I do like the depth CAS gives the game, but my lord they need to cost more to spawn, and remove scouting bonus. Vehicles with ground belts or bombs need to cost way more than regular fighters. CAS should be treated like a killstreak, not just another vehicle.

@spookston, the issue with aircraft in ground rb is that with mouse there is zero wobble after making a correction in flight to line up the target. Only mouse gets this advantage and if mouse had the same wobble as all other control peripherals, it would overnight change the skill needed to kill tanks with aircraft guns. Even dive bombing would take more skill to use.
Not even the abusive economy made me quit the game, it was CAS. Being killed by a player that you can't counter in any way is by far the most frustrating part of the game

Idk if anyone mentioned this but at 5:46, less fuel means more likely to have a fire, the gas and fumes are what ignite not the liquid itself so if you have more fuel less likely to burn but if theres less fuel and more air and vapor in it burns even more. Your liquid fuel leaked all out but the fumes remained burning up your plane

@@RDEnduro yes, the game even tells you as much (cant remember if it was in one of the tutorials, or just a loading screen tip), you dont have to actually physically model vapor, just that more empty tank = easier fire
