Great video! The importance of fast-food founders was brought home - literally - when Dave Thomas of Wendy’s fame passed. My mother worked at Wendy’s, and it almost felt like we’d lost a member of the family.
And my late MIL loved Reese’s cups so much that I mentioned that love in her eulogy. She always kept a bag of the miniatures on hand.
Thanks for all your hard work!

Brenda Modrak Kroc was a brilliant businessman and the McDonald guys really didn't receive much in the buyout because they were too trusting. Their families did try to sue but it was unsuccessful and I hope people learned from their misfortune of not securing your name and revenue.

      @pauldelgadillo1827 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Yeah but Glen Bell died and he was buried in his own private family graveyard on a ranch he purchased in San Diego County. I looked it up but I also looked up Robert O Paterson, the founder of Jack-N the-Box, a San Diego icon because the man attended San Diego State followed by UCLA, where the man majored in Economics. After WWII Paterson opened up several fast food places with the name of Topsy's or Oscars in the San Diego area. It was due to the two speaker feature from the box with the clown on top, that the real innovation of Jack-N-the-Box took off because i do remember that at a many of the McDonalds, a person had to get out of their car and order at the window.

Great that some of your followers supplied videos for a few of the scenes. It must have saved you a fortune in plane fares! Good show.

If memory serves me right I've been to Pink's a few times recently while vacationing in California. The Mc Donald's restaurant near me was torn down and remodeled from the ground up and in that time i decided i don't prefer they're burgers anymore. Great video as always.

Ahhh the peanut butter cup, a favorite of mine. Thank you Mr Harry Reese, for bringing joy into the world with putting the chocolate in my peanut butter, the peanut butter in my chocolate.

Great video! Never knew Hershey's first name was Milton. You are probably the best videogragher on TH-cam, and I mean that seriously. Great work!

    I'm originally from Hershey!
I worked at all 3 places!
The Hershey Chocolate Factory on the KISS line, the Reese's plant on the miniature cup line and at Hersheypark for 4 years in both food service & entertainment!
As a matter of fact 3 of my family members are buried in a plot at the Hershey Cemetery about 10 feet from Milton S. Hershey's grave!!

    Wow Arthur,
Not only am I hungry now, but amazed and pleasured by your informative and interesting vid.
You traveled to all these places?
So fascinating to learn and see the graves of all these people, that we just seem to take for granted, or not even think of at all as we enjoy our meal at their establishments.
    Thank you.
I remember, back in the 60's, when I was in high school, Der Wiener......was the main hang out for us kids.

Pinks was one of my "must do's" on my first trip to Hollywood. Biggest surprise for me was that they have valet parking there !!! Now that's a "hot dog stand" !

Mr. Dark, thank you so much for introducing me to most of the people that made me what I am today.......................FAT.
    As usual an excellent video.
Here in Columbus there was a chain of fast foods called "Sandy's" This was before McDonald's came to town if I'm correct. Hamburger's were a quarter and fries were a dime, I think. No drive through, you had to walk in. But it was worth it.
They are all gone now, but I give them credit for introducing me to fast (fat) foods and my wife of 54 years.
    Thanks again.
