Compared to the modern games, this by-gone era is so much more exciting

they made the ball bigger to slow down the game in favour of Non Chinese players.

The traditional penhold system is both powerful and beautiful. It was the system of the champions from 1951 when Hiroji Satoh became World Champion until 2013 when Olympic Gold medalists Ryu Seung Min and Ma Lin retired. 62 years!

Traditional penhold is so imperfect, that is why it is so playful in play.

Early last year I finally pickup my 70+yrs old TSP japanese penhold for social play to keep me fit. Boy, time has changed, I couldn't even find my Butterfly Super Sriver rubber anymore .... The game and equipments had changed so much that I am still struggling with my final equipment's setup after more than 60 hours of play since. The 40+ ball is so slow that I kept missing hitting the ball, and my rubber is playing havoc with my true japanese attacking style of play.
Great video (except maybe music)! More, please.

In Singapore, many players in order to win, they go low. Start twiddling like Turkey’s Ice Cream Seller. 😅 No elegant traditional Jpen backhand, no RPB. And no shame 😂

Guess you need a gifted flexible shoulder joint to perform penhold backhand effectively.

Nice video ruined by pointless noise masquerading as music.
