    I love watching you guys machine.
    Balls out machining and some really cool techniques.
    I dig that automatic tool retraction that your dad made for the tool post for cutting threads!

      Not much of a beast haha it's a "turn Master" 17×80 I believe. 10 hp

    Is there any possibility to make helical groove inside a tappered pipe

    • @therussianmachinists2409
      @therussianmachinists2409  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing. Using a "taper attachment" is the ideal way to cut that on a manual lathe. I'm sure a cnc lathe or mill can do that as well

    So I enjoy watching this, although it seems like you are stressing the machine a little much by bearing it. Nice work though!

    Pretty heavy swarf too bad you couldn't get the chip breaker to work.

      Dave Prototype I'm not sure why I haven't tried to improve the chip shape. I'll try to mess with chip breaker next time :)

    Man I’ve seen some bad things with these machines.. Do not wear long sleeve clothing while working with these.

  • @meocats

    if you fed at 45 degrees from the compound you would have gotten better chip breaking and gotten the job done faster
