congratulations on the 100k! now this channel will be officially named "BaldCast" and Carson can finally part ways with the parasitic organism living on top of his head 😭
I love the Azula deathsquad. It gives our Team Avatar allot of opportunities to have interesting character dynamics to play off on. Especially because Azual and her team have such different motives compared to Zuko for example. Also congratulations on 100K Subscribers! 🎊
Congratulations on the 100k first of all. I don't think there is a superior one across different cultures. But I would like to correct a misconception that Carson has about the cultural setting of the show. While the overall cultural background setting of Avatar is based on a number of different cultures, including both Western and Eastern cultures .For example, Omashu references India, the air nomads is modeled after Tibetan monks, the design of their temples references the architectural styles of countries like Cambodia and Bhutan, and the water tribe is modeled after the Inuit tribe. However, the show doesn't simply refer to the Earth kingdom as China and the Fire Nation as Japan. Both countries are a mishmash of different cultural elements, but both are mainly Chinese. The Be Sing Se is a clear reference to Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty of China, and the design of most other Earth kingdom cities and the characters' costumes are mainly references to Qing and Han Dynasty of China. The design of Kyoshi and Kyoshi Island references Japanese culture. The design of the Fire Nation is mainly from the Qin Dynasty, and blended with some elements of Hun culture. Indeed some Japanese elements can also be seen in the Fire Country, such as the name of Zuko and Roku are very Japanese style. Both countries are designed with elements of Chinese culture in general. I don't think the show has any intention of insinuating the history that Japan invaded other Asian countries during WWII.
I love that Avatar never lets you believe that the fire nation is a monolith of evil people. There are normal people in the fire nation and there are bad people in other nations. I feel like kid focused media falls into that trap a lot like Harry Potter with slytherin
Have not restarted it yet Shortly after season 2 we did up to the end of the mechamaru fight but we got distracted after that Will happen at some point for sure
