Really enjoying your channel… this was interesting… but… i’m not gifted enough to do this kind of work… i’ve seen people do similar things and customise the piston to and spring to give more power… … i always try to maintain my pistols and rifles… but if any work is needed then get help.
Hola buenas noches.
No expert here, but I've seen airguns that have dieseled and understand the concept of it occuring, but I do not believe this can do it. It's a springer type powerhouse and I don't think you can develop the energy to do it with. I do not think the plastic frame will survive if you could do it either. This really isn't an air gun either, the piston is not for developing air but rather a means to push the chosen ammo thru the barrel mechanically.
@@rustbeltairgun8718 The air tube has been drilled out to 1/8" and 3/4" spacer added to the plunger assembly. time will tell if any damage is done to the mainspring by adding three-quarter inch of preload. There is a lengthy thread on an airgun enthusiast site that goes into much detail. One fellow has contracted with a spring manufacturer to make a specific spring that adds more power instead of adding the spacer to the existing spring. Prior to drilling the factory air tube I made one out of 5/32 outside diameter brass tube. The inside diameter of the brass tube is already slightly larger than 1/8 inch so no drilling is necessary. I got the brass tube from Ace Hardware for a couple of dollars. It is ever so slightly smaller in diameter than the original tube so it doesn't fit as snug through the hole in the abutment seal but it didn't seem to make any difference. The thread is titled "putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy" at thehighroad.org It is a rather long-winded thread but I would take the time to read through the whole thing before trying to make any changes to any gun. Marksman premium grade steel bb's are supposedly larger in diameter than any of the other bb's made. I have not tried them to vouch for any added performance. The thread goes into using those BB's.
It is basically a Marksman 2002, with a plastic instead of a metal frame. I would recommend the Marksman 2002 with a metal frame. Both the Marksman 2002 and the 1018 have a very short barrel, so accuracy is not the greatest.

Great photography. Can see parts and relationships very clearly.
Thanks for watching!

Is there a good teardown video for the old 1010? I have one in need of repair
The 1010 and the 1018 are identical mechanically. They just updated the appearance.
Nice video thanks
Glad you liked it!
Is there a way I can can diesel this gun like the break barrals
Possibly, as this air pistol gives you access to the barrel's breach.
I never have tried dieseling before.
Did you have any luck with dieseling

I recently purchased a daisy buck and couldn't wait to void the warranty. (It shoots much harder now)
What did you change?

Seem to have lost a lot of power doesn't shoot past cardboard any way of increasing the power ??
Has this loss of power occurred, after a tear down?
@@rustbeltairgun8718 no submerged in water and not used in a while
Most likely the seals have deteriorated. I don't believe you can get new seals. Probably better off buying a new 1018 for $30.
I need help with reassembling the umarex dx17 can you do a video showing how
A tear down and reassembly of the Umarex DX17 will be coming soon.
Can you do a vid about disassembly of dx 17
Yes, at some point
@@rustbeltairgun8718i’d like to see that… i wonder which is the better pistol if the two?
Is there any place where I can buy a new piston for this model ?
I personally have not had good luck with contacting Marksman, with regard to replacement parts. You best bet is eBay.

¡Gracias por ver!
what about smoothing the rough edges or greasing ?
Well, the grease already applied to the parts was plenty. What rough edges are you talking about?
:) I guess that 20 dollars assembled plastic 🔫 with 20 parts always will have some locations requiring honing 🔪
Is this gun plastic junk?

Copy of indias blanca air pistol...
Interesting, the Marksman 1018 and Indias Blanca are virtual identical.
