    What a brilliant young Architect ,designing & building a minimalist structure with basic materials.
    No Razzmatazz ,no bling just class from a class act .
    Well done young man 👌.

    I have thoroughly enjoyed the brick structure of their home and this documentary. They have built happiness and achieved connectedness in their space keeping in mind the topography of the area. It melts in the background. Splendid job in this eclectic approach towards mixing the modern cement and the traditional brick. It will surely keep them warm during winters and cool during summers. Those Hobbit windows 😍

    Really enjoyed the interlinked spaces and visual connectivity of the spaces. Loved the combo of brick and concrete . A real art piece u have achieved through this raw design. M trying the same in one of my projects and already expecting this comment after completing the house which ur father mentioned At the end “ ke Abhi complete Hona baki hae “ 😅. Don’t know why people always expect the conventional idea of having false ceilings and coloured walls and consider raw as incomplete . We really need this kind of projects and clients who can appreciate that raw feel.

      Thank you and all the best for your project! One of the reasons that we get this comment is because that we are not used to look at these textures as finished textures, and to be honest till the end of the project I had the same feelings 😄

    Love the house. Reminds me of my house which my good friend Fuad ali Butt designed for me 26 years ago, the brick and concrete concept. Mine is much more conservative in approach, but I love the free flowing modern concept. May you and your parents enjoy your home for many healthy years to come.

    Very original, rustic and simple, well minimalistic too as it's fashionable to call any house as minimal. But the best and most endearing thing is he designed it keeping in mind his and the family requirement. Lot of people try to impress the people, visitors and design extravagant spaces to impress them, and show off the wealth.

    Great Job!
    I admire people who take chances, not following trends but creating trends.
    Is there anyway to speed up the process. 2.5 years is too long.
    What if you had used Industrial bricks like that of Prime crete and or EPS panels.
    Was it budgetary constraints?
    I am thinking of building in sandstone as the outer skin and EPS on the inner skin with most features of solar Passive design.
    Do you plan to add a solar system?

    • @bluesun86
      @bluesun86 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for appreciating and showing interest! Construction time is relative to construction technique and material. However covid also slowed down the progress. Concrete blocks or industrial bricks can also be used depending on their strength, aging behaviour and of course the overall look of it & budget. And budget was the main concern in this project. A few things are still in my mind to add to the house and solar system is definitely one of them. This house negates the idea of inner or outer skin, it's about the truthness and integrity of the structural material.

  • @MKA0
    @MKA0 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Obviously, each to their own + like he mentioned that they were working with a budget. But personally, to me, the house felt too dark and cold. Too much exposed concrete and brick and not enough light coming in - doesn't have that warm house feel. Then again that's my opinion.

    • @lavedadean
      @lavedadean ปีที่แล้ว

      Think land orientation is such not much sunlight.

    • @bluesun86
      @bluesun86 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it is dark due to the textures and non reflective materials. Also due to comprised artificial lighting, we might upgrade it. However it is designed according to the sun angles and it gets plenty of direct light in the winter season when it's required and blocks it during summer.

      This house is designed by considering the Sun angles during the seasons, so that sunlight can come most of the time in winter and very less in summers.
      interestingly this house is very warm in winter & cool in summer, and yes you can walk around with bare foot in this house. that's not a problem.

      @@Banjaiga My dream project is “ شجر”, a house encapsulated in nature with a fully grown tree as center piece starting from the basement going to the roof.
      The floor plan is inspired by tropical houses but with a twist to accomodate varying whether of Pakistan and Security features of course.
      I don’t think it is possible in DHA/ Bahria cos of the regulations.
      The reason i am stating this is that i understand design perspective and i have seen a similar one in India. The reason is the same, they also don’t have the budget to do a conventional house so they design it in such a way and make a story about it.

    • @bluesun86
      @bluesun86 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's a project about how much you can achieve in minimum resources. It revolves around to minimize construction cost, living cost and maintenance cost. It's funny how mentioned rough textures used in the house. Every house is different and it has to be unique because everyone of us is different and has a unique way of living.

    Adnan was high on bhang when he made this, the external is a total mishs mash of Uk 70s concrete house mixed with unfinished look mixed with a confusion of naval look mixed with a gaon look, doors dont go with the house looks cheap. Too much bricks on exposure/show, should have had just some accent walls as exposed , If they render the outside of the house this would look complete. The kitchen has cheap unfriendly look, nothing shows that the kitchen is the hub, Id hang myself in that kitchen! Even a chef would runout of that kitchen. Looks like they ran out of money so the house looks incomplete from the outside and in. This house is not child friendly expect some child to have some serious accidents. Guarantee plaster and paint this home up it will transform the look and look welcoming. Adnan word of advice dont experiment with something you can execute :(
