I was just in Seattle for the first time in 4 years and how that city has changed! The area I used to walk to each morning for coffee is now unsafe to walk. All we need to do is get the government out of our everyday lives. They have been hindering our progress for decades. When Trump came into office, he removed many barriers and allowed the economy to flourish. Poverty levels dropped, crime rates dropped, unemployment in every area dropped, more people got off food stamps and were able to lift themselves out of poverty, more people were able to rent/buy houses. The government just needs to back off and let the private sector (the citizens) take care of itself. This would be the case in the entire world if every government backed off and trusted their citizens.

I was just in Seattle for the first time in 4 years and how that city has changed! The area I used to walk to each morning for coffee is now unsafe to walk. The "homeless" zone is disgraceful as is the open drug use out on the streets. Places I used to walk often my taxi driver told me that I shouldn't walk. Even in downtown he told me to be in my hotel by dark. It's a shame

I have to say that what she is saying is quite similar to what is being done in many places in the UK and Europe and those policies work well. At the same time poverty is a very hard nut to crack which is why you need a multi-agency approach. Here's a for example: if you treat the issue of illegal drug taking as a health problem then the crime rate falls. Instead of addicts stealing, robbing, prostituting to get the money to buy the drugs a health centre that provides shooting-up spaces and supplies measured doses of drugs, clean needles etc removes 90% of drug fuelled crime instantly.

All we need to do is get the government out of our everyday lives. They have been hindering our progress for decades. When Trump came into office, he removed many barriers and allowed the economy to flourish. Poverty levels dropped, crime rates dropped, unemployment in every area dropped, more people got off food stamps and were able to lift themselves out of poverty, more people were able to rent/buy houses. The government just needs to back off and let the private sector (the citizens) take care of itself. This would be the case in the entire world if every government backed off and trusted their citizens.
