Nice version with a great solo! Still like original by the Spencer Davis Group mainly because I was around when it was released and holds memories for me. "I'm a Man" is a song written by Steve Winwood and record producer Jimmy Miller. It was first recorded in 1967 by the Spencer Davis Group; Winwood sang lead vocals and played keyboards. The song was a hit in the United Kingdom and the United States, reaching No. 9 and No. 10."
Being a native Chicagoan I absolutely love this! I was privileged to see them twice before Terry Kath's death!! Outstanding ladies!! Now we live outside of Houston and love listening to sounds of our youth!!
you can watch this whole Tanglewood concert its about an hour long. its a great show .Tanglewood is a place in western Massachusetts which is the home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Growing up in the 60's and 70's, I remember both versions of I'm A Man. Both are awesome. And I have to say to you Lulu, I love your input into all of your reactions. I would love to be your Facebook friend.
Great Reaction Kathy, Lulu and Donna! There's just so many great songs from the late 60's, and throughout the 70's, and Chicago gave us some good ones for sure!!!
I was privileged to see Chicago with Terry Kath in concert on several occasions. This song is a cover of an older 60s version done by Steve Winwood when he was with Spencer Davis Group. You might enjoy checking that version out sometime. I started going to rock concerts in the late 60 and was also privileged to see Cream in 1967. I would love for you three ladies to do a reaction to "White Room," the live version from their 1968 farwell concert at Royal Albert Hall. Thank you very much. I love your show and your reactions.
@ballsyrocker I also played the bass for years during the 60s, 70s, and into the 80s, until my bad back that I had from a severe injury as an electrical lineman made me quit hauling those heavy speaker cabinets around. I do wish that I had kept my 1963 Fender Percision and my early 60s Gibson EBO.
Was lucky enough to see Chicago at around age 15 at the Oakland Coliseum I still remember Terry Kath jamming on stage all these years later. 😊 I believe this song is originally from the Spencer Davis Group but this version is so good Thanks Lady’s
This is a very altered cover of the Spencer Davis Group ( Stevie Winwood ) version of a very old and much covered Blues standard......often titled Mannish Boy by older blues artists.
Danny Seraphine just killing it on the drums!! Check out their song "Introduction" from their first album Chicago Transit Authority, it's a great way to introduce the band.
I believe this concert was at Tanglewood. Tanglewood is an outdoor concert hall in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. In the 1970's, they began to book rock bands there. There were some awesome performances on that stage. 🎸☮️☮️ I can confirm this concert was at TW in July of 1970.
great cover of the original Spencer Davis Group song. features all 3 lead vocalists sharing each verse (Terry, Bobby then Peter). no horns in this one.
This is a TRAFFIC song (Steve Winwood) but they do a great cover of it. Now you know why they were adjusting the cymbal at the beginning of "25 or 6 to 4".
This was originally done by The Spencer Davis Group that Steve Winwood was in back in the 1960's. They also did this song in England on a Show called The Beat Club that featured the cream of the crop of singers including The Bee Gees.
Pity that Danny's problems forced him out of the band but it was awesome to see them play together at the Hall induction. Easily one of the most under rated drummers of the 70s.
One time I saw The Chicago Experience headed by Kenny Cetera, (brother of Peter Cetera of Chicago), and he put on a great show…watching your reactions from Whittier, California
Pure greatness! Jimi Hendrix was once asked how it feels to be the best guitar player in the world. His response was "I don't know, you'd have to ask Terry Kath"!
"Awesome cowbell!" Well yeah, that too. It has been said that in music you can't have too much cowbell. And in life you can't have too much bacon. One of the major food groups. At this time Santana made percussion a major part of their music ( they had three drummers) and everybody tried to copy that. Chicago was the only band that came close. Danny Seraphine was a tireless and precise drummer. "This was recorded in 1972." "Also in 1970". Now I get it..Chicago were time travelers! Now it can be told! :)
You have to look at the early 70's. The next 10 years they've changed to commercial Pop sound. That was the end of nothing for me, personally. I'm nearly 63, i was for over 30 years musicsaler, i think, i know a lot of good. Mfg Willy from ibach-schwyz, switzerland.
Hmmm.... I'll give the video a thumbs up not because it slays me but more like a modest testosterone flush or as uh the only Saturday Night Live kkit, "Oooooo Weeee... What up with dat' What with dat' "
Written by the great Steve Winwood and performed by the Spencer Davis Group in 1967, when Winwood was still a teenager.

Yeah, after Terry died, the band really took a bad turn in another direction. CTA is the version of the band I like the best.
I could watch Terry play for hours. The heart and soul of Chicago gone far too soon.
A bowling alley in the city where I lived had the studio version of this song on the jukebox, a good song to play air hockey to.
This concert is a classic! have seen it several times. Love it!

Great pick! “Introduction”, from the same concert is equally awesome. Love your channel!

Loved singing and playing bass to "Sunshine of Your Love" in my band , "Deep River Rock Band" back in the late 1960s. Indiana waving. Peace.

Great song I remember hearing this song on the radio they're so awesome Great reaction ladies keep on rocking 🤟
I don't remember this song on the radio, but I do remember the Spencer Davis group doing it, they wrote it!!
Oh lord. Terry Kath shredding again. Gone too soon. RIP

Written by Steve Winwood a multi talented English Artist who is definitely worth looking into!

Danny Seraphine on drums

It's not a Traffic song, it's a Spencer Davis Group, song. Still Steve Winwood, though.

EPIC. Thank you for the trip on memory lane. The good times. 💯❤️🇮🇹🇧🇪🇪🇺
Glad you enjoyed it
Y'all really need to look at The Edgar Winter Group's live version of Frankenstein. It is quite a show.
IVE LOVED CHICAGO SINCE I WAS IN 3RD GRADE LOL!!! IM 60 LOL AWWW NICE PACKAGE!!
"I'm A Man." First recorded by the Spencer Davis Group. Chicago gave it their own unique flair. Good choice!
Pity that Danny's problems forced him out of the band but it was awesome to see them play together at the Hall induction. Easily one of the most under rated drummers of the 70s.

More cowbell.😎🎸🎸🎸

Terry Kath was the heart and soul of this group and one of the top 5 in the business, its been 47 years since his passing............what a waist.
I’m new to the channel and I absolutely love family!
Thanks for subbing!
This is my favorite by them.
Awesome!
If you liked those 2 Chicago songs from Tanglewood, you need to listen to "Introduction" and "Beginnings" from that same concert.
Chicago did their own compositions at least in the early days, right? So this one, a cover from Steve Winwood, hmmmmm, it’s SPACIAL‼️🤩
Check out "Questions 67 And 68"!!!!!!!!!!!
This song was on album Chicago17 or 21.
No, it was on their first album Chicago Transit Authority.
Lulu gets a brush because she always comments on hair. "Carry on wayward son" is a good example.
Like ur reactions. Try 25 or 6 to 4. Same concert ( Tanglewood ) ENJOY !!
It is already on channel
Ok, Thank Ya'll. Just found this channel last week. I like Donna's " I LIKE IT ! " AFTER - RAM JAM'S (Black Betty)
Love this channel 😁❤️ you guys are great 🫵🏻.... Following Kiss, you should do a review on "Psycho Circus"..... Think you'll love it !!
Thanks

When Terry Kath Died so did Chicago. They lost that driving force.
This is a great cover song, but I think you would like their original, Twenty-five Or Six To Four, from the same concert, better.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
The very early chicago were very jazzrock style. And in the 80' nothing!!!!! That's sooooo sad.
We
wee that was fun
Hmmm.... I'll give the video a thumbs up not because it slays me but more like a modest testosterone flush or as uh the only Saturday Night Live kkit, "Oooooo Weeee... What up with dat' What with dat' "
This is not as good as the Spencer Davis group version, just saying, react to that one please , thanks!
