Yea I feel the same pal been away from boro now for about 6/7 years and listening to this fills me up with tears and don't call me a geordie haha listen to that one pal
I love this song...I am an Aussie in Adelaide and follow the AFL...I consider that this song and the way it is presented by Alistair Griffin, stands together with "Up The Cazaly" down hereunder.
Ive lived in Lancashire for 7 years, my customers come from all over the uk but the most popular has got to be the Boro! I had a fella from Liverpool today say there Boro people are the nicest he has ever come across and he always made sure to stay an extra day with work in Teesside because he loved it! Thankyou for this song!
This makes you proud to be from boro and this should be the song that unites the town in these times of decline, imagine if we all sung this song together, that's pride
Me da was born in Middlesbrough...it will always be home. The grands originally came from Hayton, Yorks. to work the Pig Iron. My grandfather played for a football club in Middlesborough, and I still have the medallion each man received when they won the cup... Most of our folk moved away from the area, but stll within Middlesbrough. Some moved to Cornwall in the last war, and never returned.
He doesn't say the EU, England is still in Europe, just not in the European Union. The lyrics may be a reference to the football chant when Middlesbrough were in the Europa League in 2006, "We're just a small town in Europe" or just because it is a small town in Europe.
"Your bloods red and white and you worship saint Steve" Sadly that's not as true as it SHOULD be. In Newcastle that would be true. Sadly though a LOT of people here support Utd/Liverpool/Aresnal. A lot of my friends I grew up with do. When you ask them they're like coz boro are shit. Now kids are City fans too. Too many people in Middlesbrough don't support Boro. Newcastle and Sunderland put us to SHAME in that regard.
Left England 20 years ago. Live in Pennsylvania now. Love that song about the Boro. Brings back memories.
15 years in Puerto Rico, this makes me choke up with memories of the boro.
Miss the craic ❤
I’m from Middlesbrough, but I live in South Wales now and have for the past 5 year . I shed a tear - miss home terribly.

I'm from Boro too, live in Billingham now, good to hear from another Teessider! Keep up great work my friend.

Unfortunately he requires more research as we are most certainly NOT in the EU🤔
