A lot of the dinosaurs have gotten regular updates over the years to help them more closely match our new info about them. Of course, they still go with some more theatrical designs for the big names for the sake of recognizability like the T-Rex.

Great job at department!!!❤

What I'd love to see much more is a Paleontologist's reaction to the creature dossiers. The engineering done to make the creatures different and how they act accordingly.
I honestly was hoping he'd talk about the Argentavis. It's my favourite tame in this game and it's actual prehistoric counterpart is almost never talked about.
I love listening to the correct pronunciations of the creature names. I'd love to hear a full list. It irks me slightly when a TH-camr's entire channel is based on ARK and they don't bother to at least try and pronounce the creature names properly.
Man I really wish there was a deeper breakdown of more of the animals lol. I want to see his reaction to some other hidden gems and underrepresented critters. Bet bro would have loved the Yuty
Funny thing about the pteranodon; in the in-game dossiers, there are some notes about how some creatures are misnamed, like how our tyrannosaurus is not the tyrannosaurus rex, but people still call it rex. But for the pteranodon, it talks about how some call it a pterodactyl, while it is really a pteranodon. So they double-down on it.
If you folks decided to do a part 2 of Paleontologist looks at Ark Survival Evolved I would be happy to invite you to Ink Gaming PC Ark server so you can get some footage of whatever creature you will be looking at in Part 2.
The game’s story establishes that the dinosaurs and mammals have been genetically modified so I would take the historical accuracy of them with a pinch of salt
Super fun! I've googled every dinosaur I've encountered since starting to play Ark! refreshed my memory about some and learned a whole lot of new stuff! Btw that was a Gigantopithicus he was riding at 09:45 Mine is named Sheila and she tosses me into danger all the time....accidentally of course.😁
Wow, could it be a paleontologist that is talking about ARK in a nice way instead of tearing to pieces?? Didn’t know that was possible lol. This dude not only taught us a lot but also can appreciate that it’s a video game and not a science text book lmao
I would love to see more of his reactions to Ark stuff, but this time, with names to help him out, 'cause somethings can look a little confusing, even for an expert.
The reason ark has creatures from multiple time periods isn't that the developers didn't know any better, but because its based on the story of joanas ark, the "arks" are giant space stations with creatures from throughout prehistoric times
I love that they included so many uncommonly talked about dinosaurs. I’m glad it wasn’t just a Jurassic park spin-off showing only raptors, T. rex, brontosaurus etc. I love that even though I was one of those kids obsessed with dinosaurs 20 years ago,I still find lots of different extinct animals in this game that I don’t know what they are. It also makes the game more interesting because I don’t know if I should run from those animals or not.
I like ark however i really dislike that they keep going further and further away from the prehistoric creatures we know of and is now mostly making other stuff that isn't really related to dinosaurs , i must say it would be cool if they kept adding more dinosaurs that aren't very well known of or that they haven't added yet
in the lore of ark they needed to preserve life in some way so they were trying to find the perfect mix between flora fauna and humans and added dinosaurs to try and find a balance the lore of ark is actually really cool to look at
There’s also in-game mentions of the physical depictions of the dinos being off a little bit. In an explorer note, Helena Walker explains that the stegosauruses have a feature that is contrary to skeletons she’s seen in museums. This is because the ARKs have existed for an immeasurable amount of years in order to preserve life from Earth. (Earth is dead.) (The dinos gained adaptations, evolved, and may have been genetically altered in some cases)
I feel you bro it’s just that like the whole point of parasaur in the game it’s to have a good creature to farm that doesn’t harm you so that begginer are more easily allowed to tame them and later farm tesoures with them you know
This guy should react to the isle! The isle has a lot of unique dinosaur models and since they are player played it's interesting to see how the dinosaurs act in game because they're not npcs

I want a part 2 that covers my favorite tame Argentavis
If you folks decided to do a part 2 of Paleontologist looks at Ark Survival Evolved I would be happy to invite you to Ink Gaming PC Ark server so you can get some footage of whatever creature you will be looking at in Part 2.
1:45 I've been calling that turtle carbon enemy 🤣
Gigantophithicus is what the “Bigfoot” is.
Like the in game name is giagantopitbicus.
Been playing Ark prim plus for a few years, love it!
Another thing, even in game the creatures are listed as tweaked or edited versions of the original creatures. So not exactly perfect representations
Evolved subspecies
"Heavily modified" according to one of the mail Protagonist NPCs.
@@aesieaiyahcloe super evolved subspecies according to the lore
Jurassic World Dominion must’ve played Ark because that movie had almost all the Dino’s from the game in the movie.
The game’s story establishes that the dinosaurs and mammals have been genetically modified so I would take the historical accuracy of them with a pinch of salt
As an ARK player it was pretty funny for me that he talked about Leedsichtys and Gigantopithecus while both of them were shown in these moments xD
for a second i thought it said "protagonist reacts to ARK: Survival Evolved"
The fact he was spot on about the sasquatch name 😂
You should do another one of there but show him the dossier for the animals too
The dude from the Godzilla movie dedicated his life to paleontology after being saved by him xD
He forgot to mention the parasaurolophus walked on all fours and we have an idea of the sounds its crest produced
9:37 i think this is supposed to be gigantopithecus
Living in Oklahoma, we have snapping turtles with spikes on their backs. Alligator snapping turtles is what we call them. They are assholes lol
Brontosaurus wasnt in jurrasic park
I like ark however i really dislike that they keep going further and further away from the prehistoric creatures we know of and is now mostly making other stuff that isn't really related to dinosaurs , i must say it would be cool if they kept adding more dinosaurs that aren't very well known of or that they haven't added yet
As a ridiculously over the top armchair paleontologist since I was 4, seeing this is awesome for one of my favorite games
The irony in "During the age of exploration a lot animals went extinct"
Thank you very much , indeed , sir
in the lore of ark they needed to preserve life in some way so they were trying to find the perfect mix between flora fauna and humans and added dinosaurs to try and find a balance the lore of ark is actually really cool to look at
Ark is honestly a good game
Actually in the game the "bigfoot" is called "Gigantopitecus"
You should have this guy react to some of the other maps and the fantastical creatures in them
Pls I'll love a part 2 of this featuring more creatures oh and apparently ark 2 is going to be using the correct pteradon look
I was wondering what you thought of the spinosaurus. As far as I know there's a lot of debate about what it actually looked like
I feel you bro it’s just that like the whole point of parasaur in the game it’s to have a good creature to farm that doesn’t harm you so that begginer are more easily allowed to tame them and later farm tesoures with them you know
Ark is a very sweaty and difficult game, but my love for dinosaurs keep me. I've always wondered how a professional paleontologist would react to it.
This guy should react to the isle! The isle has a lot of unique dinosaur models and since they are player played it's interesting to see how the dinosaurs act in game because they're not npcs
9:54 thats hilarious, you let your teenage kid go driving unsupervised for the first time, then you get a call they hit a bigfoot 😂😂😂😂
