I loved watching Rin Tin Tin in 1960's and more repeats over years. I always loved German shepherd and alsatian dogs. I just lost my last German shepherd 7th May 2020. I have cats but my girls and boys German shepherds are very special animals. Sadly missed all of them. I cry to all our TV dogs filmed they are like Rin Tin Tin Angel's on earth. God bless them all. I have a notice from paper regarding the work animals did in world war 11. The lady who fought for animals to be recognised as heroes died late 1990's I think. She made it so the animals were to be awarded recognition as war heroes too. I truly appreciate her grit and determination to ensure our fellow soldiers animals are treated with respect they deserve. Love be xoxox
Never wanted a German Shepherd until a 4 month old puppy ran into my house and refused to leave. He's the sweetest dog I've ever known. A huge gentle baby.
My second favorite dog, Siberian Huskies, because of their sweet nature (if bred from ethical breeders)... Unfortunately, none that I owned or rescued displayed any territorial tendencies, and will escape when given the opportunity to run free--and run, and run, and run farther yet... A hint on catching Huskies: Chasing them on foot is futile, so I would jump in my car, drive up as close as the roads would permit, and yell, "WANNA GO BYE-BYE?!" And, they'd jump in the car every time!... Note, it's easier and safer to have an extra person to open the backseat door)... Huskies don't make good guard dogs either, so I always had at least one German Shepherd to guard me AND the Huskies! German Shepherds are my #1 dog! Sometimes I think they're smarter than most people I meet.
I absolutely LOVED this! I had no IDEA that the dog on the show RIN TIN TIN that I used to watch on Saturday mornings when I was a kid was named after another famous RIN TIN TIN! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
You don't think Hollywood could come up with an Idea of a 'Rin-Tin-Tin' AND train a dog like him, all on their own, do ya?! Most hero films and shows come from stories of animals (and a few humans) in real life, except all the dang superheros from comicbooks (can we stop with all the superhero and princess movies, tv shows, and cartoons?)
@@noninoni9962 I do see where you're coming from, Noni Noni; you've got a great point! But the reason I never thought about it was because when I was watching the show about Privete Rin Tin Tin and his friend, Corporal Rusty, on Saturday mornings is because I was a little kid. 🐱 Over many years, I hardly thought about it the show. So that's why this is such a delightful surprise! 🐱👍🏻
Can you make a video of the life and times of the famous Mr. Ed, the horse of course? lol. I watched him as a kid and thought it was awesome a horse could talk! I still think about that show!😂🤣😅🐴🐎💖
Actually, Rinty's sister never made it to California. She was sick when they reached NY. It was distemper, or some other puppy disease. Duncan left her in New York to be treated, where she died...
Lassie was my favorite but Rin Tin Tin comes in a close second. My favorite Rin Tin Tin series is Rin Tin Tin K9 Cop that aired on the family channel I think it was in the 90s but I am not sure if that dog is a direct descendant of the ones trained by Lee Duncan? I am not old enough to watched the early ones except in reruns. Some of my older family members was trying to remember if there wasn't a contest in the 50's or 60's that gave away a Rin Tin Tin puppy?? I did Google to see if I could find anything on that but didn't. I do love all dogs and all dog movies (except the ones where the dog dies) but Lassie and Rinty were my favorites 🐶💖
I would love to see one of Rin Tin Tins silent films have you ever heard of his rival Peter the Great? He was another German shepherd dog actor who was actually from Germany and trained for two years at the Berlin police academy. He was also popular making six films. In 1926 His owner was attacked by another animal trainer who while drunk attempted to Kill the owner firing a gun at him. Peter heroically attempted to push him out of the way and in the process took the bullet and died, his heart broken owner sued for his death and was awarded a staggering $125,000 (the equivalent of over a million today) a record in the US for the death of an animal
yes Peter was quite possibly the best GSD Strongheart was also from Berlin but no one else made as many movies as did Duncan and Rin Tin Tin. He did stunts that modern dog trainers would not attempt (a 2 story jump from window to window between buildings for example)

Fun Fact: Toto from The Wizard of Oz was a female named Terry and she was a big movie star in her time, not just in Oz.
Owned and trained by Carli Spitz
I inherited a small statue of Rin Tin Tin that my great grandmother said she got at the world's fair about 100 years ago. Really cool!

Cute video and lucky channel always get a lot of views not like mine, I just wanna give up already, too tired with no result 😑😑😑
Nanette died
They all die sooner than we want... Most are lucky to reach 14.
And thus, began the popularity of German Shepherds (which are my all-time favorite dogs) and the beginning of puppy mills and unethical breeders :-(
