Love the fishing around caleta, on my last visit to my daughter and grand kids I spent €3 on line, hooks and a float then caught a bag full of fish by handlining off the rocks! Lovely way to spend an hour while the kids were in school!!
Cracking video ive caught loads of those fish over the years in spain using bread and small strips of squid they really do scrap well for their size i could never find out what they were called so thank you for clearing that up 👍
Nice video. I'm looking to make a trip over to the Canary Islands this winter. Looks like you had a pretty nice day. I'm not looking to catch anything big, but would like to catch a wide variety of fish. Would you say just setting up at random rocks and casting out small bits of bait would allow me to do that?
Interesting video Greg I'm catching similar to you across the pond in Playa Blanka no big preds yet I read a post from Kevin bout sending a pm how can you do that your boy has good taste looking at the shirt
The easiest way to pm me is either on Instagram or Facebook but I might be a little slower to reply. Also... Let's not talk about football teams, Chelsea are rivals🤦♂️😂
Hi mate do you have any tips/recommendations for decent areas to fish around Corralejo please? First timers coming out in a few weeks so any license/permits needed? Thanks 👍🏼
You should have a licence to fish. It's approx €17 and lasts 3 yrs. You can apply online but I don't have a link to the website. You could put a big bait out at night from the tiny beach in corralejo Town but you might get moved on. If you went slightly south of the town and found a little rocky outcrop casting onto clean sand then there is a good chance of bream, rays and predators. If you have a car then the island is there for you to explore. If you're just in corralejo then you want to target rays and bluefish off the beaches in darkness
Hi Staying In Feurteventura on Nov in a place on the SW coast. Have never sea fished from the coast. A big ask, would it be possible for you to say exactly what I need.
So.... do you know where you are staying? Is it la pared? If you want to fish the west coast then a continental style rod will do. Something long with a bit of back bone. I always use my sonik gravity but a good bit of length to get up over the surf. West Coast you want a standard reel loaded with 15lb braid to a mono shock leader and then either fish big 2 hook flapper rigs with Size 2/0 baitholder hooks or pulley rigs made from 100lb flouro . Stick half a sardine on that and you have a chance of bluefish, smooth hound, tope, trivially. If you are after big stingrays then that's on the east coast and you want a strong 2 piece rod. Century, afaw just something that is strong. A reel with at least 300m of 40-50lb braid and then the same pulley rigs with half or whole sarding lobbed out. Remember a head torch! Anything else?
Yes Gaz you do need a license. It lasts 3years and is only €16. th-cam.com/video/cNai9-QIsKE/w-d-xo.html this vid shows where to go in Fuerteventura for it👍
There are 2 massive warehouses next to each other half a mile south of el matorral which is literally 2mins south of the airport . I think 1 is called China town🎣🎣
Really enjoyed watching this, thanks for making it and covering lots of different species

Hi Carl. It is a stunning place and that's why I've been there over 40 times🤦♂️😂. I love it!
Great vid Greg , and it just goes to show you don't need the most expensive kit to catch a few fish . Hope you enjoy your break 🎣👍

No worries Michael, glad to be of help👍👍
De name by order... Palometa, Herrera and Pejeverde
Bigger hook and one of the small ones as bait would have been interesting, probably some pelagics along those colour changes,
I wouldn't have landed a thing on 0.23mm mono😂🤦♂️. Possibly cuda but any bonito or bluefish would have been further away from the port
@@gsp you would be surprised what you can land on that gear, had things over 5kg on similar setup.

Yes that would work fine. Stick to squid or prawn. Try and make sure you're fishing out into open water and not into a bay
For fishing, the best island is La Graciosa
Got me itching now but we are down at Costa Calma area, great vid 👍🏻👍🏻
Pop down to morro jable and see the stingers in the harbour 👍👍
Well done m8 love the video nice to see different places 👍👍
Cheers sidcup1

In the capital, Puerto del rosario. I have a video on getting a license in Fuerteventura

Any licence needed to shore fish?
