Hey Nick, I have a question for tomorrows Q&A: I am getting tired of seeing the same Pokémon in gyms so i would like to power up some atypical pokémon to put in gyms, ones you don't see a lot. I don't want to waste my stardust so do you have some recommendations on pokémon, that we dont currently see in gyms who make good defenders and are not a total waste using stardust on. My goal is not to get the best defenders, just to get different defenders to spice up the gyms in Copenhagen. Thanks for the great content and best regards.

I understand you don't just mean the best, but Nick went over more than just just one Pokémon for each type. He gave like the top 5 or so w/movesets.
Secondly, you're question is subjective by nature. It's about your particular desire to see a wide variation of Pokémon in gyms, and not everyone will have the same taste as you.
Thirdly, you seem to be trying to have your cake, and eat it too.
You want to "spice it up" with some Pokemon that are not the best, just different than what you normally see.
But you also want know which ones are worth spending the stardust to LVL up and put in gyms.

The obvious question would be why the heck would you NOT want to put the best Pokémon in gyms? Even if everyone starts over-using that Pokémon, Niantic will recognize the need for another game rebalancing

Target level 7 to 9 gyms and as long as you have a blissey or two in the bottom not at the highest CP (quite often in kbh) you should be able to prestige enough to put like a houndoom (dark moveset), espeon or donphan (the max potential CP depends on your current level and IVs). But the fact that you put a different type pokemon with good move set obliges the attacker to change his line-up and becomes tricky because they already have to take down one or two blisseys and probably have gyarados, vaporeons and dragonites ahead. Any line-up can be taken down by a group or high level players so just have fun and do fast to get your coins :p
Right now, save your star dust. The gym system is broken, and only pokemon with high CP is worth putting in gyms. SAVE YOUR STARDUST, as i think this problem will be solved with the gym update. That's what i think.
replacing cp for level would be the best way to go. seeing dragonite/blissey/snorlax/vaporeon etc in almost every gym is BORING. i'd rather see something like a lv 50 scizor, then a lv 55 gengar, then a lv 60 charizard, then lv 70 jolteon for example.

Doubt anything will be arriving before Easter. I would advise holding all the candy you can until then. You won't regret it once the event arrives.

San Francisco is a really big spoofing area, I'm pretty sure that's why the gym you did was so hard to get cause alot of hackers go there.

No, contact Apple if it was an iTunes card, or Google if it was a GooglePlay card.
The only other way to buy coins is through your own debit/credit card, or like one of those VISA gift-debit cards.

Gilgar and sudowoodo are very common where I am. Seeming all of the "rare" pokes that aren't useful in gyms are common here.
But no starters or Dratinis or gen 1 "rares" for example.

The cupid's bow gym exactly depicts the situation of all the gyms in the malls in my area, it lags a lot cause of the turnover and when I'm finally fighting in the gym, there's an error due as the gym is already down. But what can I do, should be glad that some people are still playing
I think the main reason why they didn't talk to you is because they recognized you. Trainer tips might've been popular with the guys at Niantic(hence the CP balance is similar to Nick's idea)
