+Clear sky Over the lake I don't see what's your problem she literarly just said she is thankfull for this video and that she wants to go to nyu so was your opinion needed?I think not
Funny story about athletics at NYU, athletes here have a really tight community and literally no one who doesn't do sports know about the athletic program. So if you mention that you do sports for like ten years, you're a beaming headlight. Oh also talk to the coach too, that will help.
I'm almost a high school freshmen and people are already asking me questions like ”what do you want to do whyou you grow up” or ”what colleges do you want to apply to” all I know is I don't want to stay in the same state i grew up in.
i'm currently in grade 8, and i just started high school in september. i'm always in constant stress because i don't know what i want as a job for the future, or even know if i want to attend university or college. the only thing i really want to do is to be successful and make my family proud of who i will become. but it fears me, because last year when i was in grade 7, all my classmates knew what they were going to study for after high school. people younger than me even know what they want to be, but here i am. i'm the second youngest in my family, with two older siblings and a younger sister. my two older siblings are doing their own thing, and my younger sister is still taking her baby steps. so i feel the constant stress from my parents because i feel like they expect way more from me than they ever had from older siblings. even when i entered high school, it was like you needed to know what you wanted to become before you even entered the building. when i was younger, i told my parents i wanted to become a vet and as i grew up, i went with it and thought it would be a good job for me. but i found out last year that i have a constant fear of seeing open skin. ( idk if theres a proper word, but whenever i see anything scraped, or a cut on someones skin, i cant look or else i feel like puking. ) so that basically went down hill. so yeah.. ://
hey im in 10th grade right now and my parents are doing the exact same. im also in the same boat as you, but all i can say is to try to keep their words at bay for now. it causes so much unnecessary stress for you right now. Right now is the time for you to discover what you want to do, and even then you may not know even when you graduate. its ok to not know, plenty of people apply to college undefined, meaning they dont know what major theyre going to be. just try to destress for now and focus on your grades but dont forget to do things you enjoy at school either!
MY GOAL IS TO GET TO NYU WHEN I AM OLDER!! My mom has been telling me how NYU is AMAZING so that's why I want to go there when I am older. This video taught me so much! Thanks, Jennifer! Also, #notificationsquad!
I'm so glad you uploaded this video Jen. I'm in the same boat, but since I live in Scotland our education systems are far different to anywhere else. I'm currently doing HNC social sciences at college which is equivelent to your first year in university and me personally I'm at a crossroads, because I no longer want to do anything in that field. Like I think you highlighted a very important thing that you should read about your courses your applying for way in advance and have like a background plan. So thank you for uploading this! Now I'm going to research about changing my field/course.
I needed this so much! I am currently in the tenth grade and my sister goes to UCLA and that is exactly where I want to go! This has helped me so much and honestly thank you you are amazing ! Good luck for your future and hopefully I get into UCLA 😜😁
I’m from the Philippines, a country in South East Asia, and I’m currently a high school student here. NYU is my biggest life goal, and I don’t even know where to start. I just really hope that someday I’ll get the chance to achieve my dream, even if it means working a part-time job just to study there.
Yay! I'm so glad you made this video. I applied early and I'm so excited to attend nyu this fall; it's been my dream school since freshman year 💜 I hope you make more videos about your experience at nyu, because I'd love to learn more. Also I find it so funny that you applied to so many UC schools, because I live in California right now.
Tysm! I'm in the eighth grade taking high school courses and NYU is my dream school! It's also amazing transportation because I can take the train to it, or drive.
Stephanie Yeet i did something similar if you are in honors you can take living environment and algebra 1 which are freshman courses and if you pass you get the credit but it only works in ny since other places dont take regents
yess, this vid was super helpful as i am an upcoming senior ahhh!! i have my first SAT next week and i'm currently freaking out. anyways, loved this vid and got some great tips! :)
I'm a sophomore in high school and I want to graduate in 3 years so like when I'm in 11th grade I want to graduate so I should start my studying for SAT but I'm too lazy and I lack motivation so idk what to do
Christiana! Congratulations! That's amazing. I Think this online tour would be nice to watch before you go to NYU www.campusreel.org/colleges/1003 ! :)
Thanks, love the part where you said you hate NYU but you came to love it. I want to see your portfolio!! I'm taking AP Studio Art right now and I need some inspirations for it, that would be very helpful if you created.
One of the worst things about NYC is the bipolar weather. But I’m so glad that you grew to love NYU and NYC!!!! Stay happy and keep up the bomb work 💕💕
thank you for this!! i still have 4 more years till college but i’m so confused on like which ones to go to, what’s good and what’s not good and how to prepare so this was very helpful!! ♡
what’s it’s like living a coast away from family? i live on the east coast and hate it here (it’ll always be home, but i want to live in california and always have). however all of my family is spread across the coastline from florida to jersey to pennsylvania to massachusetts etc and i’m extremely close to my family and worry about leaving and being a five hour flight away.
love this video! I used to be a hugeee fan of your channel and somehow I kind of just drifted away from it :( this year, I've been applying to universities and watching a TON of application and acceptance videos and this popped up on my recommended! It's so cool to see how much you've changed over the past few years and I'm so glad to see a fellow Canadian at an American university. I'm definitely an outlier- no one else in my grade is applying to US schools. The process for me was definitely very different comparatively to US students applying to US universities and there were a lot of things I had to figure out myself (ex. SATs). I've also applied to NYU and who knows, maybe I'll see you there next year! My only question for you is: how hard/easy was it to cope with being away from family and friends. If I do get into any US schools, I feel this is a factor I should definitely take into account.
i grew up enjoying crafts, but didn't i would pursue anything art related in college. by the time college apps came out, i decided to go into architecture as a last minute thing bc i shadowed a bunch of doctors and engineers and didn't like their work environment (bc i wanted more design-y.) so i TOO ended up finishing my whole portfolio in 2 weeks. i really condemn you for being able to do all of this. (ps i go to usc so when you said you wanted to go to ucla mmmm.. haha)
I have a good friend who lives in Ontario and she says it only takes an 80% to get an A in high school. Just wondering, was that the same for you? BC and Ontario could be completely different, but I don't know for sure!
This was very helpful!!! Very informative and Interesting ☺️ i love this kind of talks especially in my case, I’m from asia but my mom wants me to apply for college there in the US. I seriously have no idea about any of the gpas and stuffs bc that doesn’t exist in my school so I don’t where and how to start! Thank God I come across this type of video. Very very helpful 😄
really enjoy when youtubers make videos regarding their education
Love this video idea! It’s so important to talk about and encourage education. 💕
I really cannot express how much I appreciate this video, NYU is one of my top college choices. Thanks 💜💜💜💜💜

I'm almost a high school freshmen and people are already asking me questions like ”what do you want to do whyou you grow up” or ”what colleges do you want to apply to” all I know is I don't want to stay in the same state i grew up in.
Cadence Huizar me neither, I lived in Texas until I was 12 and moved to Chicago and surprisingly I’m already bored here and gonna be a junior already
I’m going to be a junior next year and I’ve recently decided that I’m going to stay in state because it’s cheaper and I’ll move when I graduate
Yup this is what we all wanted ❣️❣️❣️❣️💕💕💕💕❣️❣️❣️
Lol I saw you in Brent's video
Lol you watch him too
This is great! My dream college is NYU. I'm staring high school next year and they're already making us think about college!

Stephanie Yeet i did something similar if you are in honors you can take living environment and algebra 1 which are freshman courses and if you pass you get the credit but it only works in ny since other places dont take regents
Same exact situation here lol!
Don't drive lmao, the roads are terrible and driving is so much different than the suburbs 😭 plus subways are fun
