  • When Cynthia Morrison waits on you at the Georgia Waffle House, where she’s worked for the past 37 years, she wants to hear all about your life. It’s a service the patrons have come to expect. So when Cynthia missed a busy Saturday at work, Joey Godfrey wondered where she was. She informed him that she had a bad reaction to a cancer drug she’s taking. Joey rallied the community to help her out. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

This only illuminates the abhorrent nature of our current healthcare system that focuses on profits over patients. It’s driving us to an unsustainable macroeconomic disaster. According to the OECD and WHO, America ranks 18th and dead last by comparison of the top 11 wealthiest nation in the world. And we spend twice as much! Pew research shows 70% of Americans what Medicare for All. Including 70% of republicans. Educated yourselves America.

That's nice that somebody cares so much about her. I wish I had that the only one who ever cares about me that much is my mom and my doctors seem to care.

That is super sweet. I had a waitress once that was a sweet lovely old lady that had worked her whole life and raised her grandchildren. Norma was her name and she worked at Rib Crib in Lakeland, Florida. She had bladder cancer ad had to have surgery and she made through the actual surgery but in recovery they gave her morphine and she had a bad reaction and died...... I was heartbroken as was many of her customers at the restaurant. The restaurant put up a picture of her in her honor in her section so we all felt her there, it was very nice. Rib Crib no longer in there after many years but every time I pass by I think of Norma.

Fantastic ! Let's be happy that she requires kindness from customers to help her . The NHS here in the UK is overstretched but at least I know I will get free health care . Hoping she makes a full recovery but let's not be fooled by these ' cheery ' stories of the kindness of others . Free health care for all !

I have leukaemia. When I was diagnosed it was very active and my oncologist scheduled me for immediate chemotherapy. I had to be in hospital for five weeks, after chemo, dealing with any number of side effects. I had daily tests and procedures including MRIs, CTs, XRays, blood analysis, and specialized tests. I was seen by a variety of specialists. I stayed in a private room, as I needed to be isolated. 24 hour care. I had the most amazing care team, at night, the nurses would bring me heated blankets if I had a chill. I’ve had tremendous care since. When I went to leave the hospital, the entire bill had been covered without a penny charged to my health insurance. I received the same level of care of any head of state or hobo on the street, yet I didn’t pay a penny. It was all covered by my fellow citizens. Pretty good, eh?
