At the time of its launch, Mulsanne Speed was the most powerful four-door car in the world. It featured immense torque, thanks to a more enhanced version of Bentley’s mighty 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 engine generating 530 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 1,100 Nm of torque: the highest torque of any four-door luxury car. It accelerated effortlessly from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds (0‑100 km/h in 4.9 seconds) and reached a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).
Offering a sporting take on luxury, its rifled stainless steel tailpipes, unique 21” wheels, dark tint brightware and ‘Speed’ fender badges all added to its powerful road presence. A series of assertive styling features included a dark tint finish applied to the exterior brightware, including matrix grilles, bumper, radiator grille and 'B' wing vents. The dark tint extended to both front and rear lights. 21” Speed alloy wheels, with a dark-tint option, were Bentley's first-ever directional style wheel.
Mulsanne Speed also included interior features that further highlighted its sporting abilities. These included diamond-quilted seats and door pads, knurled gear lever and drilled alloy sports pedals. A striking sports interior colour split with perforated hide also ensure the Speed's unique place in the Mulsanne family.

I am on my tenth Bentley Turbo R. This one I own is a 1997 with 385 Horsepower and 569 ft. lbs. of torque and let me tell you..if any of you have a chance to drive any Bentley, please do…then you will understand. I’d like to thank Bentley and it’s amazing employees for being above top notch and classy. Thank you for all that you do and for creating such a beautiful machine. Although my car is a 1997, it’s just the business…it’s like a 787 getting ready to take-off…the amount of power this car has (and I can’t imagine what the new one feels like) is just amazing. Bentley employees…..thank you - I appreciate everyone of you.

In a world of Maybachs and Phantoms the Mulsanne is greatly missed.

I prefer the “old” school Bentley’s. I’m on my 10th Bentley Turbo R. You really need to own and drive one of these cars to understand how magnificent they really are. My 1997 Bentley Turbo R has 385 Horsepower and 569 ft. Lbs of torque…effortless power, class and speed. 6000lbs and a top speed of 150 mph…..not bad.
I hope to goodness that the mystery fifth electric model due before 2030 will be a successor to the Mulsanne, a proper large limousine to take on the Phantom. I know the smaller flying spur has taken on much of its role in the lineup but with the ever increase in customer demand for interior space and luxury, and the perfectly appropriate silent and perfectly smooth electric power it seems an ideal time to create a new big Bentley. Alas I suspect it may be a ghastly coupe-SUV instead but here’s hoping.
Tim is the best of the best. Knowledge about the history and the specs is on point. Awesome 👌 👏 👍 work.

I know it’s not saying much but I have sold a few 2006 Bentley Flying Spur with over 130,000 miles that ran perfectly with no check engine lights. I feel that the high mileage says a lot about the overall longevity and reliability of a Bentley.

Was looking into getting a continental GT next year but with Bentley associating with these youtubers is ruining the brand for me. Instead of making professional videos you have some youtuber make blogs on you official channel with an Iphone camera. Unbelievable.....
Used to hate Bentley’s. Now they’re pretty awesome. Rolls Royce gives off a pompous and/or recently signed rap star vibe. Bentley is more or a refined enthusiast type of vehicle.
How is it that even after exposure to these elegant machines Shmee continues to spec cars so badly? And why isn't he wearing a proper hunting jacket or similar attire befitting the Bentley experience?
His Ford GT is a great spec. So is his Mercedes AMG GT Black Series AND his SLS AMG. His Zenvo is also a cool spec (I mean, it’s the Joker colors). And his Ferrari SF90 in Blue Electrico is fucking dope. In fact, I’ll save myself time and just say I’d happily own any of Shmee’s cars.
@@theranter The STO was bad, the 911 was bad, the Aston V8 is bad, he lives in London, all these amazing tailors, all he has to do is take one from Saville Row to a dealership with him and do something elegant. I agree the New Ford GT was as good as a spec as any car on the road. The SF9- was basically a copycat spec from his previous Ferrari.

@@theranter No, just a boring old guy that prefers classy specs, My Gen 2 NSX, LC500 Convertible and Lucid Air GT-Performance are all white cars with tan interiors. Look at the David Lee collection, his cars are great. Shmee has top flight access to allocations and could use a hand with the look (just my opinion, he is doing great, nothing to get worked up about).

The rounded-off front on this facelift car - a mixture of aerodynamic profiling and enforced family resemblance - is nowhere near as imposing as the bluff original.
