Little “Ruthlessness” thing… Yes Odysseus was told to be ruthless, but I see it more as brutality than ruthlessness. Ruthlessness implies efficiency that his bloodlust didn’t convey in Six Hundred Strike. I see it as “we are told to be a way by the gods, yet their intervention was his downfall” (just me? Okay 😂) Edit: yes he was “efficient” to use the bag but I see that as wit not as efficiency tbh
It's "dramatic irony". Poseidon told him to be ruthless, like Zeus told him at the beginning that killing a baby was "the will of the gods". If dropping a baby off a wall to its death isn't both ruthless and brutal to you, then go to therapy lol the brutality Odysseus shows in Six Hundred Strike is the result of him choosing to be ruthless. He tried the Polites "open arms" way of understanding and kindness, and it didn't work. So he became ruthless like Poseidon preached, but Poseidon wasn't prepared for how that ideology could be turned against him when Ody used ruthless brutality to make him submit. He basically said "I'll do it your way, and you won't like it, but you asked for it"
