MCoBeauty’s business model is based on quality dupes.Don’t know when they pivoted from luxury at affordable prices but they still use “the affordable” line. At the end of the day, people are buying the products or they would not be branching out internationally & pumping out products so fast. Im like you Sam, but indifferent about it. Dupes have pros & cons. I will say, they dupe the products very well. You look beautiful Sam, hope you had a good day Hun. Xx
Totally agree -the fact that Mco is accessible and fairly priced makes a huge difference for the Aussies. I don’t want to pay $80 for a mascara that I can only get online…
Good on you Sam! I agree totally about the whole Mco Beauty being called out for duping. They are by no means the only brand doing this. Plus, they do have products that are purely their own (their sunscreens, mascaras, foundations for example). As you said, supermarket's dupe a plethora of food goods, other companies copy appliances, car manufacurers also do it. Alcohol, perfume, icecream, shoes, clothing.... Need I go on - dupes are everywhere so why should cosmetics be any different? I think the real thorn in expensive brands' side is the blatant packaging simulation. However Mco are not alone there either. PS so glad you are on the mend now, hon 😊. Really looking forward to watching your Aussie-made cosmetics vid 😘😘

I think the major issue some people have with MCO is the packaging very close to the original, but elf products are now where near as close. I also find MCO expensive for the product, and I don’t know about you, but I rarely see them 40% off a Woolies anymore.

A bunch of my friends received a PR package from them. I actually signed up to work with them. I heard a lot of good things about them.
The only good thing about winter in Australia....I'm talking mainly about the East coast from Qld down to around Sydney, is the ability to actually wear good skincare without sweating it off and heavier makeup you've had to wait all summer to actually wear again lol.
ALTER ego dupes eyeshadow palettes that's literally what they do So ,I wonder if the same influencers and subscribers that promote and support Alter Ego or ELF are the ones making a fuss over MCoBeauty dupinig . Years ago I would have loved Charlotte Tilbury dupes. I have since bought everything I wanted from her line, but I understand people want dupes. Brands have been duping for hundreds of years from toilet paper to juice.
My order is underwear, skin prep, hair and while hair curls cool I do makeup, then brush out hair, then perfume then clothes then normally more perfume. Hope you are feeling better soon.
MCO beauty may find the marketing doesn’t work - it’s because it’s a ‘cheap’ copy that MCo beauty works here- so it will be interesting to see if it works. I think if I was in USA I would just buy the original if the copy was not heaps cheaper
Even if you buy all Australian (like Natio) they may still have to source some of their ingredients (like some essential oils) from elsewhere. That’s the reality in all countries. That globalisation
With the dupes, not everybody could afford the original product, especially nowadays when we’re in inflation. I remembered years ago when cat dies shaded light, palette duped by make up revolution, and she yelled at them for that, basically cussed them out. I think they were inspired by how the original project looked and they decided to do it so people could, access it if they can’t afford the original one. I meant cat Von D.
I was born in the 60s (did I just confess to that?😳) and probably up to the late 90s it was really easy to buy Australian made everything. Now it seems only food is easy, unless you can afford expensive hand crafted items.
Tati went absolutely off the tree about MCo but she's an indie brand. I never see her complaining about Alter Ego, ELF or Wet N Wild. Her own palette was over $80 before postage to Australia.

I personally don't have an issue with brands doing dupes to make things more affordable/accessible, however, I don't think it's right to completely copy the packaging from other brands. It misleads people into thinking they are buying something exactly like the more expensive product when the ingredients are not even close.

I have number four body spray, based on sol de Janeiro 71 and I love it! It’s soooo similar to the original. I won’t be buying the others though.

Those moisturising pads look really good - I’m struggling to calm my skin down after swimming- the chlorine makes my skin go so red !!
