Just ordered my S-type (right shoulder carry) version of the mongo. Can't wait to use it. I've been getting tired of using a backpack to walk to work and then needing something from the pack and having to take it off. Stoked.

GREAT question!!! I can't attest that it's "watertight" but I can say that it will affectively repel light to medium rain, well enough to keep your gear dry. I'd love to test its water repelling capabilities though. sorry I can't be if more help.
