    Affinity Designer would have done a better job because this particular artwork you did looks very graphic design-like. The powerful alignment engine does smart inferencing in order to place your shapes accurately. What's great about AD is that not only it's a powerful vector app like Illustrator but it also incorporates a pixel mode so that you can do more painterly artwork. AD is more expensive but still extremely affordable considering Adobe or Corel products. It's a bargain. What was HUGE to me is that it isn't subscription-based. Thank God!!

    Hi
    Thanks for this tutorial.
    I might be thick but I got stumped when you first drew the circle and said "I tap it". Can you please explain what you did because nothing happens when I did that and I can't find the tool any where.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @HelloHiHola
      @HelloHiHola  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was unclear - the video says draw and wait... I should have said to leave your stylus motionless on the tablet after attempting a circle. Then an outward "ripple" indicates that if you lift and tap the shape you drew, IP will provide tools to better what it thinks you intended - a circle in this case. Sorry! The screencast choked my rhythm a lot so I made some poor word choices.

    Most of what you're showing, I'm not seeing in my version. I'm using Infinite Painter on an Amazon Fire tablet, so maybe it's a different version. For example, after you draw your circle, you mention @ 3:06 that infinite painter gives you a stencil which you tap. It's unclear to me where you tapped, but I don't see any way to get that stencil / control.

    • @HelloHiHola
      @HelloHiHola  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for not responding sooner. Some earlier comments cover tapping the shape after remaining motionless on it. I wasn't clear in the video. This assist kicks in when you pause.

  • @Mrsantaissatanisnew

    I like infinite painter, problem is, is I dont have a stylus so I’m using my finger for drawing, sadly, I wish I could offset the cursor so I can see where I’m drawing and I dont see an option for that :(

    • @HelloHiHola
      @HelloHiHola  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry! At the moment, there is no support for a finger offset. However, even a cheap, rubber Capacitive Stylus should do the trick nicely - better than a finger. You'll sacrifice effects of variable pressure, but you'll be able to see what you're doing as you do it.

      If you mean flip canvas, that is something the pen can do with a double tap or a long press depending what setting you command in the settings menu. If you mean to rotate the canvas like you might spin a piece of paper, that is better left to the fingers.

    • @HelloHiHola

      @@HelloHiHola Suppose it means just need to get more accurate first time ha. I've been scouring the web looking for a drawing/painting app that will replicate what Photoshop can do; create 'paths' with the pen and use it as a selection at any time. But so far it seems it's one or the other, either total pixel or total vector apps. This infinite painter seems the closest fit so far. I want to do car rendering like I do on PS, so I really want the paths tool for sharp details such as the glass frame and wheel designs etc. Anyway, thanks again! :)

      @HelloHiHola  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's Grid for creating regular straight lines on X and Y in the Tools > Paint > Perspective (drag left) but it's not a compositional tool that automatically ID's thirds or centers. You'll have to tinker with control points.
